Eye exercises to help improve my vision?
I've heard that there are eye exercises that people can do to improve their vision.
I am nearsighted, and have 20/40 vision. I hate taking out my glasses every time I have to read something small on the overhead or chalkboard in school.
What are some of these eye exercises I can do to improve my vision, even a little bit. Do they actually work? Has anyone benefited from doing this?
some links or examples would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Peter J
yes using muscles can help.

theres games for the nintendo ds that are said to improve your vision if you have an nds then why not buy it http://nds.gamezone.com/gamesell/p33024.htm

u must improve again...dont give up....i think eye exercise good to improve your vision......

Well over time your eye site improves because my moms did.

there is one person i know who started doing eye exercises every day from the time he started college and discontinued wearing glasses. this is what you should do, each 20 times:

-move your eyes up and down
-move your eyes from side to side
-move your eyes diagonally
-roll your eyes in large circles

-look at your nose for 20 seconds
-look at the farthest thing you can for 20 seconds

unfortunately, this can only work if your vision is -2.00 or less. the same person i talked about is now a grandfather and still doesn't need glasses.

I know how you feel- I don't really like glasses as they can be annoying at times. There are several vision improvement programs available on the net- just read through their websites to find out which one you'd be happy with. Try googling "pinhole glasses", "Bates method", "eye exercises", "natural vision improvement" etc to find out more about these exercises.
The only thing you need to remember is that you need to be committed and practice these exercises daily if you want to see results as well as employing good vision habits. As you are still young and have 20/40 vision the chances of your vision improving is high when compared to people with worse powers (prescriptions) than yours.

Good Luck..and remember there is no harm in at least giving these exercises a try!

The exercises will help you a little, but I hate to break it to you, without surgery, you will always need to wear glasses. If surgery is out, get contacts. The exercises help, but your vision is too far gone for them to fix it completely.

look up eyeQ

im sorry to tell you but the only way to make a *noticeable* improvement is to get laser surgery. "Excercise" your eyes all you want, it wont do anything.

a friend tells me his ophthalmologist gave him a card used in a focusing exercise. ask yours about it
