NOPE

The normal body temperature is 37.5'C, anything over 38'C i would seek advice from you GP. High temperature is caused by an infection. In order to bring his temperature down give him some infant suspension (paracetamol). Hope he is better soon

no 99 degrees is not considered a fever, but take percaution. because that could get higher. 99 is not bad but it also isnt the best, it should be 98. something

well temp does fluctuate between 97-99, was the child given something for the temp? that would bring it down. Keep monitoring the temp and if it goes higher then 101 call the parents, i would also call the parents and tell them instead of going onto yahoo anwsers

Georgia Kat
98.6 is the average normal temp. So it depends what is temp is when he is not sick. Most doctors don't worry about a temp of 99. So it does look like his fever is getting better.

Nikki
yes it is considered a fever but only a slight one and nothing to worry about unless it gets over 100.. and yes it is breaking because it is going down

anything higher than your average normal temperature is a fever

baby girl due in July
i just asked a nurse the other day when I was at the doctors and I cant remember exactly but she said it would be around 99-100 n higher if a temptare ever gets to be higher than 104 you should see a doctor.

The average temp. is 98.6. So, he could be running a very slight fever. Thermometers aren't exact you should always consider a + or - of .2 if you want an exact the best you can do is use the old mercury thermometers, they are the most accurate. As far as if he's breaking his fever or not, he might be but you also need to consider the fact that first thing in the morning and at night when your sick, yor fever always seems to be higher.

Normal temp is 98.6 so it's not really a fever.
