For HIV No
For Herpes yes

Kim
It is possible to contract HIV/AIDS, herpes, and other fluid-born STDs by kissing if saliva is exchanged. The likelihoood of getting HIV is low because you must have an open wound in your mouth in order for the virus to enter your bloodstream, and your partner also has to have a wound/cut in their mouth to transfer it to you. Again, the likelihood of that happening is low.

If your partner is having a herpes outbreak and you kiss, you're likely to contract it. Make sure the person you're kissing doesn't have any blisters. Even so, it is possible to contract oral herpes when the person has no signs of it because it's in their system. Most people do have oral herpes and their are prescription drugs available to prevent outbreaks. I believe the current stats for America are 1 in 5 people have it. Oh yeah, their are diff. strains of it you can contract.

It depends on what disease they have.

skindoc
If someone has STD like syphilis ,Gonorrhoea,Herpes, and if you are kissing on the sore, there is risk of contracting the infection.

Depends on where you're kissing them. Lots of things can be spread lots of ways. Just remember, If it's wet and it's not yours...don't touch it.

Badger
Depends on where you kiss them. Mouth to mouth tends to be only in danger of herpes, and usually you can tell if they've got it, because there are open sores (not pimples). And if someone has it, they usually know, too.

Kissing is generally safe, but if you think someone looks a little strange, maybe you better not.

Ordinarily kissing does not lead to STD's. But smooching can especially if you have an abraded lips or oral ulcers.

Yes you can, Herpes is very common and is normally known as a cold sore. HIV is a possibility if the other person has bleeding gums, although this is still highly unlikely to infect you.

Metal Chic
Er, i don't think so...i hope not!!!!

No. You have to exchange bodily fluids.

Pj
Yes..If that person is HIV pos. And by chance you have a open sore, canker sore and some form of blood is transfered from them to you. This can be done by them having a sore in their mouth or lips. Or you accidently cut yourself on their tooth lets say. But anytime there is a transfer of blood there is a possibility!

Herpes can be spread through kissing. Anytime bodily fluids are mixed there is a chance. The only way to avoid getting STD's at all is bY TiTTiE ********! AND LETTING HIM ***** YOU IN THE NOSE AND EAR TILL YOUR BRAIN IS NUMB!
