I would sure try the warm milk, and soft music, I used to listen to a favorite love song. Try it, you sure don't have anything to loose. Good luck and God Bless.

Actually exercise helps me sleep. Whether is going to a exercise place like Curves, or just walking for 45 minutes.

Alot of people drink warm milk before sleeping....ahhhh good night!!

a warm bath relaxing music scented candles teas that make you sleeepy a glass of milk turkey helps too

Some natural cures that have very few side effects include Melatonin(great for reseting your sleep schedule) and valerian Root is also a great herb to help you relax. Aromatherapy is also a good alternative if you don't want to swallow anything. Try warm bath and use some Lavender oil or Lavender bath salts to help you fall asleep.

when I can't sleep I play a little game with myself. It was recommended by one of my psychology professors. Since sleep isn't an action, it's a mental state, you can't make yourself sleep. I try to keep my eyes open for as long as possible without closing them and keep this up until they start to get heavy.

do not drink alcoholic beverages before bedtime,take a nice hot bath,read a novel,or listen to soft romantic music and think of a nice vacation if that doesnt work then get dr to check u out 2 c what is bothering u..do not take sleeping pills that stuff can kill u!!!

Try to limit your caffeine intake during the day, and try to stay on a regular sleep schedule. Sure, pills can help, but all you're really doing is sleeping off the affects from the medication. Try to limit excessive stimulation before you go to bed...watching TV and even reading can keep you up because of hightened brain activity. Warm tea and a bath may relax you as well. Go to bed at the same time every night. If you still can't sleep after half an hour, get up and do something for a while, then try again.
use your bed only for sleeping, not reading or watching TV.
Drink less alcohol.
Start a vigorous exercise routine. (exercise anytime except immediately before bed).
Do all these things, and you have a good chance of getting rid of your insomnia.

I do not know how old you are...but sleep deprivation can make you sick and even lead to death if not remedied. See your Dr... for help. Do not take over- the -counter sleep aids..they can be addictive and if not used probably can affect your general health.

1)drink tea a half hour before bed
2)take a long, hot shower
3)use your comfiest, favorite bed sheets and pillowcase
4)read a great book
5)drink some warm milk
6)listen to classical music
7) wear silk pajamas
8) count sheep
9) count stars
10relax every part of you body one at a time, starting from your toes, until you are completely relaxed
11) concentrate on a quiet relaxing noise and do not think( i listen to the tick tock of the clock)
12)go to bed at a regular time, but wake up hours earlier
13) ask your doctor for help
14)take sleeping pills
15) give it time

I do not know how old you are, but I am a teen, and these things worked for me. If you are young, it is just a temporary thing, and it happens to everyone. DON';T STRESS1 you'll be better in no time! I hope I helped! GOOD LUCK!!!

Reading, warm/hot bath, no caffeine, light snack, maybe some slow music or something. Or watch something boring on TV. Also praying helps me go to sleep. Hope some of these help. Good luck :) (I also watch TV; but I'm currently 8 1/2 mos preg)

Not a cure but is supposed to help- I have insomnia as you can tell by what time it is lol, but my sleep doc told me NO SMOKING or DRINKING CAFFEINE after 4 or 5 pm- I couldn't give up the smoking so here I am. I use Xanax now and it seems to work the best for me

reading can make you tired....physical activity after dinner, walking, etc...and don't drink caffeine...it makes it worse..

Some people claim warm milk before bed helps.

Reading fifteen minutes before you sleep also helps.

Different things work for different people. I had to go to the doctor and get medication. It was great, I took it for about 2 or 3 weeks, and then I slowly quit taking it and am still sleeping well. The medication I got was safe enough to continue to take for a few months if I had to. Some people are against medication, but I have suffered from insomnia since I was a child. The first few days on the medication, I woke up feeling as if I was in heaven. An entire nights' sleep, no tossing and turning, no waking up every few minutes. It was great.
