Read something really boring, like some homework or something to that extent. You'll be out before you leave the first page!

You can also drink warm milk. Studies say that there's a chemical or hormone in it called trytophan; that'll put you to sleep as well.

Or you could just take Tylenol PM.

Common home remidies include:

Take a whiff of Lavender
Switch to linen sheets
Get a heating blanket (with a timer).
Say no to nightcaps
Schedule your bath
Take up a hobby
Try a "white noise" machine
Have a midnight snack
Don't push it

Read, watch some TV, dont twilight sleep cause it will lead to insomnia.

I close my eyes, take a deeeeep breath and exhale slowly. Starting at my head and working to my feet, I tighten and then relax each part of my body. Then, I imagine myself at the top of a long escalator, going down, down, down, deeper and deeper, just riding that escalator deeper and deeper, down and down.
This is part of a self hypnosis technique which is also a pretty good sleep inducer.
While you're down there it's a good opportunity to talk yourself out of bad habits and stuff.

I always relax in bed and mentally go over my day. It makes me feel better about what I accomplished and reminds me of what I still need to do. It also gets all of your thoughts out so they aren't running through your head keeping you awake. I also make sure I stay active all day. Using up the energy that food has provided for you is good way to get a hard sleep.

Count to six while holding your breath. Let it all go. Close your eyes and count down from thrity. Every time you think of a number that you are counting down from, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. This develops a sleep breathing pattern that will lull you into "dreamland."

Also, make sure that you are not too cold or too hot, and that your bed is made in a comfortable way.

Another method is to lay on your back w/ your rear against a wall and your legs in the air against the wall. Close your eyes and stay in that position for fifteen minutes. Then when you get into bed, you will feel cozy and relaxed. (It's a form of stress-relieving yoga).

Read a book that excites you. I remember when I read the DaVinci Code, I couldn't put it down. I'd read it before bed and I'd start passing out. Weird huh? You'd think a boring book would do that.. but no.. a good book. Try it!

the best way to make you fall asleep is (if you're a tea drinker) to warm up a cup of nice Cinnamon/Chamomile with honey tea. If not then i suggest closing your eyes for two minutes and then opening them for two...do this process over and over again...your eyes tire much easier than your mind.

Relax. Then close your eyes? Or maybe use google and find a pill to help you sleep. But be careful. On the news there were people using a this sleeping pill and they were sleep walking o.o one person painted while sleepwalking.

You have to settle down and do nothing mind boggling before trying to go to sleep. Then, just close your eyes and think of nothing exciting...just plain think of falling asleep. That's why they say count sheep. It's just so boring that you fall to sleep. And, try not to let yourself get overtired then, it's even more difficult to fall asleep. Good Luck I know it's frustrating not being able to fall to sleep.
