Question for girls only!?
girls , I know this is a stupid question ok, but i am a clean freak, don't really like to use public bathrooms, always using hand sanitizer, have to wash my hands all the time...etc. any ways my question is, have ya'll ever wondered something? when ya'll are using public bathrooms, and sum of the toilet water splashes on your private area, don't you ever wonder if you could catch something from that water? like an infection or something? i'm curious... what do ya'll think?

No.

Remember-- years ago there weren't even indoor toilets.

How do you think people managed then, without all the "hand sanitizers" etc..

jeez

Gammeh
Okay, im male, but anyway.

Depends on the water, did it come from the toilet seat? The toilet basin? The sink?

If it came from the toilet basin, and the toilet wasn't flushed before you flushed it and the water went on your area, then 1) it could contain bacteria BUT 2) its an almost ZERO%/low chance of that bacteria actually entering your body.
If the toilet was flushed before you did and the water splashed near your area, then it would most likely be 0.00% chance of bacteria being there.

If it came from the sink then again, if you use soap, from what I gather you do, then the bacteria probably will die.

And if the water came from the toilet seat then theres an even lower chance of it entering your body because it would be so far away from your area.

never thought about that but is so true...

Ricky B
gross i hate when that happens, but there are things that women can catch that can be passed by water, so be carefull

Hauuah
Yuck i don't want to think about it.

MARITA
Hello.

Well yes, and these kinds of question are super normal. I mean all the people who go into those bathrooms. That's why I do whatever it take to not use them. If I have to than I'm extra careful to not sit or touch anything, then I super wash my hands.
We just have to be very careful with all those skin infections and other kind of infections.

I am so sure that you probably could catch something from that nasty water. I squat and use those anti bacterial wipes afterwards and flush with my feet, open doors with my elbows....lol. I totally feel you......disgusting!

I FEEL YA ON THAT! I USUALLY SQUAT SO FAR AWAY FROM THE TOILET THAT I SPLATTER ALL OVER THE PLACE AND I HAVE TO USE A HALF A ROLL OF TP TO CLEAN IT UP....UNLESS IT WAS REAL NASTY BEFORE I WENT. BUT FOR THE MOST I TRY TO HOLD IT UNTIL I GET HOME, BUT WE ALL KNOW IT'S NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE!

Well hon, germs are everywhere. You could get an infection from anything. Even from the bacteria in your own body. So I don't really worry. I simply follow good hygiene and safety measures, a little more in public bathrooms than my own.

Mike L
sorry I'm an old guy
First outside the USA community toilets are common
some are just a small rut in the floor and people squat..
now when a "toilet" was available they (girls) stood on the seat and still squat..
My daughter learned to squat back in the 60's when camping.
as for the phobia,,, most water in the city is chlorinated ???

V V
i think the same even from my own bathroom. well when you use a public bathroom dont even sit on it, try to stand on two legs , kinda like that , thats what I do, well try not to use public bathrooms, by the way hand sanitizer does kill germs but after you use it, it creates super germs.

yh ive wondered that, but then kinda forgotten and thought i probably havent as nothings happened so far, but it has made me curious sometimes

lucky star
its the seat so if your worried take Lysol wipes with you everywhere you go & oh it doesn't sound stupid

Mary
I hate that too.. But the majority of viruses (for down there) are not air borne so once they hit the air they are pretty much dead and can not cause harm.
So it is basically just a gross and nasty experience.

beauty
never thought about it. it's the same toilet water that you have at your house. the toilet bowl gets cleaned by janitors like yours get cleaned at home except public toilets might get cleaned more often.

klarebear
ewww yes i have... make sure that the toilet is clean.
you could bring some bleach with you....
but really you shouldn't bring so para noid

buggerlugs
the trouble with being a clean freak is that your immune system never comes across germs and when it does (and it will) your body wont cope-dont take it so seriously

Not hardly possible. Did you know there is more germs on a telephone than on a toilet seat?

nicole c
i always have to wash my hands but i never really throught about getting an infection.. but then again water has never splashed on me

blixa22
You mean like a bacterial or viral infection? Virtually impossible, but theoretically possible if the toilet was not functioning properly and/or your immune system or mucosa were compromised.

I've been known to cover my front parts with a wad of TP when doing #2 because the cold splash just plain feels gross. Even though I'm not worried about catching anything.

I don't sit down. I've got thighs of steal and have no problem hovering over unfamiliar toilets. It's just gross to sit. At home, I'll sit, but nowhere else.

i think maybe its possible. but our "private areas" are designed to fight off any possible infections. its is nessacary when you have an opening anywhere in your body. i am also a clean freak. i carry my hand sanitizer everywhere

The chances are very very very slim. It could happen though. It makes me want to bathe immediately.

♥Martini Shake♥
The chances would so minuscule it wouldn't even matter - no worries though - i hate public bathrooms also and always keep wipes and hand sanitizer in my purse. xoxo
