A fatty deposit causing a dimpled or uneven appearance, as around the thighs and buttocks.
aka
fat. especially the bubbly, cheesy fat.
and if you haven't noticed it on your body, i don't have it anywhere on my body except the skin under my arm at the elbow through the armpit. you can't even tell it's there unless you squeeze that skin, and you can feel almost little balls of squishy, almost hard crap. thats the only place one of my brothers has it too, because he is skin and bones. you might have it there even if you are really skinny.

Cellulite describes a condition that occurs in men and women (although much more common in women) where the skin of the lower limbs, abdomen, and pelvic region becomes dimpled after puberty. |

It's the globby fat under your skin that makes 'cottage cheese thighs' on people. It builds up as the body stores fat near the surface. Not attractive, and not useful really. |

Cellulite is a word the diet gurus coined years ago so people with fat thighs wouldn't have to use the "F" word. Doctors have said all along that fat is fat and there is nothing that distinguishes fat in one part of the body from fat in another part. In other words the doctors say there is no such thing as "cellulite". It's just plain old fat. |

Cellulite are the little cottage-like dimples women have on the back of their thighs, buttocks or even stomach. It makes the skin look really lumpy and it's msot apparent on heavier-set women. |

It's fat that gets "caught" in the striations of skin cells, and therefore it really never ever goes away.

Cellulite describes a condition that occurs in men and women (although much more common in women) where the skin of the lower limbs, abdomen, and pelvic region becomes dimpled after puberty.[1] The term was first used in the 1920s and began appearing in English language publications in the late 1960s, the earliest reference in Vogue magazine, "Like a swift migrating fish the word cellulite has suddenly crossed the Atlantic."[2]
Descriptive names for cellulite include orange peel syndrome, cottage cheese skin, the mattress phenomenon, and hail damage. Synonyms include: adiposis edematosa, dermopanniculosis deformans, status protrusus cutis, and gynoid lipodystrophy. Cellulite is unrelated to cellulitis, which is infection of the skin and its underlying connective tissue.

Actually, a common misconception is that only fat people get it.
It's actually hereditary. if your mom or G-ma has it, you have a good chance of it. Mischa Barton has it, google 'Mischa Barton' celluite. She's TINY. You don't need to be fat to have cellulite.
You can reduce it by eating good, not smoking, and rinsing you skin in the coldest water you can stand after each shower, and scrubbing your legs and stuff with a towel when you're done. |
