How can i lose weight if i love food??? i want to lose at least 30lbs.?

Look I really love food two. I have two kids and wanted to lose my weight for not only me but them. My advice is I bought a calorie counter book, then thought about all the foods I liked that were low cal, low carb, low fat. Then I started food matching into meals. For example: boc choy, bean shoots, mushrooms, snow peas w oyster sauce is a great healthy low fat, low cal, low carb side dish. Anyway, here is the plan I give:

If you want to do this it is for life so you need to totally change your way of eating and exercising. This is not a diet rather than a healthy eating plan for life. So no more talking diet cause it means time limit.

Here are the golden rules:
Initially cut down to 1200 calories women & 1500 men
Exercise 6 times per week for 1 hours a day. Do three weight sessions and three cardio sessions. No gym involved.
Don't eat carbs after 4pm, never eat carbs within 2 hours of exercise or within 1 hour of exercise.
Drink 3 litres of water per day. You can have a Green Tea at the end of the day.
Limit your fruit in take to 2 pieces per day.
Never eat dinner after 6pm.
Adopt of low GI eating plan this is sustainable for life!
Make low fat dairy choices
All food choices need to be low fat
Don't make food a big deal and don't socialise using food

Follow this menu plan as a suggestion:
Breakfast 7am - 1 cup hot water w lemon
20 minutes later have a bowel of oats w water (no honey) OR
fruit salad w low GI Soy yogurt
Snack 10am - pear or apple (both low GI)
Lunch 12.30pm - multigrain sandwich w 50g tuna/lean meat & salad (no butter)
Snack 3pm - low GI yogurt OR skim berry smoothie (no honey or banana) plenty of ice, 1/2 cup skim milk & 1/4 cup yogurt
Dinner 5.30pm - 120g-150g grilled lean meat/fish/prawns/tofu patties (not fried) w spinach salad & mixed vegies (no whites, carbs) OR 3 egg white/Soy omlette with ham, cheese and tomato
Snack - 1 scoop of low cal low fat ice cream (if hungry)

Exercise is must be intense. Refer to www.bodybuilding.com for your weights routine. Never do weights two consecutive days have a cardio day in between.

Cardio needs to include running, go hard up stair wells and cycling. You get the most benefits from exercise when your body is totally fatigued and this is when you see changes.

To maintain you can increase calories to 1500 women & 1800 men and reduce exercise sessions to 3-4 times per week. If weight creeps up again due to holiday period etc.. go back to 1200 cal and 6 sessions again.

Good luck it worked for me it can work for anyone.

When I had jobs that were physically demanding I had to add lots of high calorie foods into my diet to keep the weight from falling off (I'm very small). Your body need to burn fuel to be very active.

If you increase your physical activity you should be able to eat the foods you love and slim and tone your body at the same time.
Now that it's summer, there are many pursuits that will be just as fun as they are good for your body.

I find kayaking great for strengthening and toning, and yet very calming/de-stressing. Playing Frisbee, basketball, or cycling with your kids will benefit the whole family.

try eating fruits and veggie try working about a least 20 min 3 to 5 days a week and drink as much water as you can try not eat late dinner like no later then 6 or 7 and also try to eat light or fat free no fast food or soda

you can love food, you can lose weight but you cannot love food and lose weight. . There are only two ways this is possible
1) work with it so much that you no longer feel like eating it- sort of the de-sensitizing method.
2) get a really nasty case of food poisoning which will make you considerably lighter'

If you're unwilling to reduce your intake of food, you have to increase your amount of exercise.

It would be better if you reduce your portion size and number of portions, and exercise too. Then you will lose weight steadily and have a healthier lifestyle.

You can still love food. You just can't eat as much of it! Also, a good exercise program will allow you to eat a little more once you have attained you goal weight as well as help you reach your goal.

EZ, just dont love food so much? Controle yourself? You are discusting?

try and limit yourself to the food dont eat until you are full only eat until you are at a comfortable zone.

Cut down on your portion.


Learn to control your cravings. I love food too but even I can cut back on my serving sizes and not give in to my cravings.

It's not that you love food, you may be an emotional eater. Having kids stresses anyone out. The next time you put something in your mouth, ask yourself if you are hungry, if not, put the food down and do something else.

Emotional eating is comforting and we think that it helps reduce stress or helps us through stress.

You may lose weight on a diet but if you don't have your emotional eating under control, you will put the weight back on when you are done dieting. Best of luck.

best thing for your habit is replace the foods you eat with the same thing but sugar free fat free and try to reduce some of the calories and carbs you take in a day

Try this for a start, the go on to a well balanced diet and regular exercise. This does work.......


6 large green onions 2 green peppers
1 or 2 cans of tomatoes [crushed] 1/2 bunch of Celery
1 large head of Cabbage 1 pkg. Lipton Onion soup
4 cups of water

Season with 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. pepper, 1/4 tsp. curry, 1 Tbsp. Parsley, if desired or bouillon or hot sauce. Cut vegetables in small to medium pieces and cover with water. Boil fast for ten minutes. Reduce to simmer and continue cooking until vegetables are tender. This soup can be eaten anytime you are hungry. Eat as much as you want, whenever you want. This soup will not add calories. The more you eat the more you will lose. Fill a thermos in the morning if you will be away during the day. If eaten for indefinite periods you would suffer malnutrition.

DAY ONE: All fruits except bananas. Cantaloupe and watermelon are lower in calories than most fruits. Eat only the soup and fruits. For drinks; unsweetened tea, Cranberry juice, or water.

DAY TWO: All vegetables. Eat until you are stuffed with all the fresh, raw, or canned vegetables. Try to eat green leafy veggies and stay away from dry beans, peas, and corn. Eat along with the soup. At dinner time on this day, reward yourself with a big baked potato and butter. Do not eat any fruits.

DAY THREE: Eat all the soup, fruits, and vegetables you want. Do not have a baked potato. If you have eaten for three days as above, and have not cheated, you will have lost 5 to 7 pounds.

DAY FOUR: Bananas and skim milk. Eat as many as 8 bananas and drink as many glasses of water as you can on this day along with the soup. Bananas are high in calories and carbohydrates and so is the milk, but on this particular day your body will need the Potassium and
the carbohydrates, proteins and Calcium to lessen your craving for sweets.

DAY FIVE: Beef and tomatoes. You may have 10 to 20 ounces of beef and a can of tomatoes or as many as 6 fresh tomatoes on this day. Try to drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water
this day to wash away the acid in your body. Eat the soup at least once this day.

DAY SIX: Beef and veggies. Eat to your heart's content of the beef and vegetables this day. You can even have two or three steaks if you like with the green leafy vegetables, but no baked potato. be sure and eat the soup.

DAY SEVEN: Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables. Again, stuff yourself. Be sure to have the soup at least once today.

At the end of the seventh day, if you have not cheated on the above diet, you will have lost 10 to 17 pounds. If you have lost more than 17 pounds, stay off the diet for two days before resuming again from day one.

This seven day eating plan can be used as often as you like. As a matter of fact, if correctly followed, it will clean your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being as never before.

After only seven days of this process, you will begin to feel lighter by at least 10 and possibly 17 pounds, having an abundance of energy. Continue this plan as long as you wish and feel the difference.

This diet is fast, fat-burning, and the secret is that you will burn more calories than you take in. It will flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being. This diet does not lend itself to drinking any alcoholic beverages at any time because of the removal of fat build-up in your system. Go off the diet at least 24 hours before any intake of alcohol.

Because everyone's digestive system is different, this diet will affect everyone differently. After day three, you will have more energy than when you began, if you did not cheat. After
being on this diet for several days, you will find your bowel movements have changed. Although you can have black coffee with this diet, you may find that you don't need the caffeine after the third day.

DEFINITE NO-NO'S: Fried foods, bread, alcohol, no carbonated drinks, including diet drinks. stick with water, unsweetened tea, black coffee, unsweetened fruit juices, Cranberry juice, and skim milk. If you prefer, you can substitute broiled fish or baked chicken {skinless} for the beef on only one of the beef days. You need the high protein in the beef the other day.

The Basic Fat Burning Soup can be eaten anytime you feel hungry. Eat as much as you wish. Remember, the more you eat, the more you will lose. Continue this plan as long as you wish and feel the difference both physically and mentally.

Any prescribed medication will not hurt you on this diet.

Exercise every day, even if it's just a walk. Go on a high protein, low carbohydrate diet. Eat fish, eggs, chicken, occasional lean beef or pork, low fat cottage cheese. Stay away from regular cheese, no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, peas, beans (except green beans). No fruit and no fruit juice (it's sugar water, my dr says). Cut down on carrots and tomatoes (included ketchup). Use mustard instead of mayonnaise in recipes. Eat lots of salads, green vegetables. Salads only have one tablespoon of dressing for the whole salad. No ice cream, or other desserts. 8 glasses of water a day. No caffeine

What I did was get myself on a diet, and after the first week it gets a lot easier. You need a lot of support. I had a friend monitor my every food intake.

Well first of all if you don't mind me asking how much do you weigh now? There are many doctors who can help you lose weight, what I am doing now is eating 6 really small meals every day. I lost 30lbs! and losing!

eat right. use proper portioning. 2000 calories per day......no more. and exercise faithfully....enough to burn 1000+ calories.
simple math. if a person only eats 2000 calories a day and burns 1000 calories per day, then they are losing weight.

Eat very healthy...lots of fruits & veggies. Keep sugar, fats & junk food to a minimum. A trick I learned is to drink a lot of water before you eat a meal so you feel full by just eating a small portion. I didn't really like to excercise but I do & feel very guilty if I don't. Walk as often as you can, park far away from the stores in the parking lots. I get up & do 30 to 50 stomach cruches every morning in my pj's beside my bed & find that I can do up to 100 now & it is only a few minutes a day. Overall, do a little bit of everything to achive big results. The key to watching the weight is to watch what you eat! Good Luck!

First off, acknowledge the strength of your body. Love it the way it is. Your body has carried children, yourself, and made it possible to be the successful person you are in other areas of your life. Give yourself permission to move freely. You can dance, jiggle, bounce, walk, sway, and run if you feel so inclined. Join a belly dance class. You will get to know how your body wants to move and take pride in your individual style. Dance and move freely! Indulge in your favorite goodies in moderation. Move and be active with your kids. Give yourself permission to live now and do all the things you want to do when you've lost those thirty or so pounds now. Reward yourself for being the strong person you are now by becoming more active. Remember, your family loves you for who you have become and who you are, not some idealized fantasy in your head;)

I think the best thing a person that loves food is to cut back on the fat intake. You should not eat out a lot and start cooking your own food... preferably low-fat cooking. You can always find low-fat recipes on line.

If you really want to you can do it. Eat 6 small meals a day, healthy meals, lots of fruit and especially vegetables. Treat yourself once in a while, something small, so you are not deprived and then exercise, exercise, exercise. Don't be impatient, the weight will come off. It did for me and I owe it all to the rebounder. You don't have to consume large amounts.
Exercise more.
Take the children out for walks, play ball with them.
Anything that gets you moving,

self control, when you feel snacky, drink a glass of water. it will help curb your hunger.

weight watchers you can eat what you want but it teaches u moderation
