Yes, you can. but it will be slow and there will be loose skin to worry about. If you really really wanna lose some weight then combine both ways. control your intake and do some exercise. |

You can not lead a healthy lifestyle without exercising, period. Losing weight shouldn't be your first priority. Being healthy and starting to like who you are right now should take precedence. Find a new and fun activity....I discovered bellydancing and it is so much fun and it doesn't feel like exercise at all...except you break into a sweat with all that shimmying! |

Yes you can. It isn't ideal because exercise speeds up the process, helps build muscle, increases metabolism, etc; but - yes - if you reduce your calories enough you can lose weight. How much you lose depends on how many calories you cut back on.
A person could get to a point where there were so few calories they were taking in it could be difficult to reduce them, in which case exercise would help use up the calories.
Think of how people who are sick for a long time and in bed often tend to lose weight (but they also tend to lose muscle, as well as fat). The point is if you take in few enough calories you'll lose weight.
For some reason (maybe because exercise is so important or else because of brainwashing that our culture has done) very few people will admit (or else realize) that a person can lose weight without exercising. They can. They do. Its just not the best thing. |

Yeah- but it's REALLY hard, not nearly as healthy for you- and you probably won't lose as much. Listen, ANY exersize is better than none- If you can find a few hours a week to simply walk around the block or your local Mall a few times- it will really pay off for you in the end. Good luck. |

7 Tips to Increase Metabolism
To increase metabolism, always eat breakfast in the morning. Break-fast...break the fast. Don't skip breakfast. If you wait until mid morning or afternoon to eat, your metabolism will run slower. Think of breakfast as adding logs to the fireplace. Your metabolism is the fireplace and logs are the breakfast.
Increase metabolism by eating smaller meals through the day. Eat 4 to 6 six small meals, 2 to 3 hours apart.
Don't depend on herbal products to increase metabolism or energy level. Any metabolic increase will be minimum and herbs are not cheap. Instead, include more energy foods such as whole grains, beans, vegetables and fruits.
Park further away and walk. Use the stairs instead of the elevator when possible. Walk to the post office instead of getting into the car. Take your dog on a daily walk. Do more activities around the house to burn energy instead of wasting money on pills and potions that don't work.
Incorporate a walking routine to increase metabolism at least three to four times a week. Walk 30 to 40 minutes each time. This is the best way to increase your metabolism.
Don't starve yourself when trying to lose weight. This will slow down your metabolism in a hurry. Avoid 5 to 6 hour gaps between meals without eating.
Be committed to eating smaller meals at regular intervals. Prepare food in advance and bring it with you. Never eat sporadically and plan each meal. The common mistake is to skip meals and eat too little during the day. This makes you vulnerable for eating junk food later in the day. Eating to lose weight takes planning. |

Yes, you can lose weight, but that doesn't mean you are healthy. You have to exercise to keep muscles and bones strong. Just because you are skinny, doesn't mean you are any healthier than someone who is a little bulkier. Muscle burns fat and muscle also weighs more than fat. Get to the gym and do a BMI. That's a much better indicator. |

Yes you can stop eating but thats not a very good idea. |

Yes you can, on a low fat, low-cal diet. You will have to drink plenty of water and eat lots of greens. I would not recomment too much of meat as it will have too many side effects (high cholesterols and heart diseases, blocked arteries etc). Even eat fruits in moderation as they are high in sugars, and try to include some fibres in your diet as well. Green Tea is also a good idea as it increases your body's metabolism and has anti-oxidants.
However, even though you may lose weight, your body will not be in a good shape as it could have been had you exercised. You may feel dull and listless and permanently tierd. So a little exercise actually goes a long way in keeping you fit and healthy - keeps your metabolism high, your blood sugar level low and all aches and pains away. If you are not an exercise person, try walking - maybe run small errands in your neighbourhood or take your neighbour's dog/ baby for a walk or even do some gardening or light housework. |

Drink lots of water and eat healthy. It will be faster even if you do something like walking every day. |

Yes, but not in a healthy way. The answer you don't want to hear, is that you need to be exercising. You can acheive a lot with just simple weight training and cardiovascular training. Begin slow by walking more and taking stairs instead of the elevator. |

yes, it's called a diet |

technical difficulties

you must exercise 30 min. a day.
or deal with the problems that come from inactivity and not sweating out your toxins.
and septic poisoning along with inert buildup in the intestines and arteries.
it's your body.
:D
and yes you can lose weight by not being active.. it's called starvation/dehydration diet.
works wonders.. soon you'll not have to worry about your weight ever again.
your loved ones though may have a problem with it especially the burial fees. |

yes. but it taked you a long time and you must be very careful in choosing what you eat. because of the length of time you may get tired of you diet and quit it. |

Yes, but you'll be flabby. |

yes... when i was in 7th grade i went on slim fast, didnt exercise ever, and lost 30 lbs. i wouldnt recomend it though, becuase excercising builds muscle, which weighs more than fat, but muscles burn more fat when your doing nothing. so you would lose weight faster and be more healthier if you just excercise a little bit. |

You can, but it takes much longer. And you really have to watch what you eat. |
