By lifting weights you increase muscle mass. Extra muscle mass comsumes more energy, and requires more caloric value to sustain. Now say your body consumes 2000 kilocalories a day, and you eat 2000 kilocalories a day. You start working out, and now your body consumes 2500 kilocalories a day. However you still eat 2000 kilocalories a day, you'll loose weight. About 500 kilocalories a day. |

No, you'll just build muscle. You need to lose the weight that you want to lose b/4 you start building muscle tone b/c fat is easier to lose than muscle. |

lifting weights doesnt really BURN calories..it kinda gives you muscles, or strength, same thing. one way to lose weight is to have a healthy diet consisting of fruits and vegetables and PLENTY of water instead of juice or soda. you can also try running ar jogging for like and hour everyday *that REALLY helps burn calories FAST!* or taking up a sport like basketball, you'll lose weight AND gain some muscles!
good luck on losing weight! |

yes and no. you'll be really tones but muscle weighes more than fat, so you'll end up the same weight but a healthy weight. also lifting the same muscle groups every day is not recommended, rotate groups from day to day to give you the extra day so you dont tear the muscle groups down |

This is a great question and I am glad that you asked.
Yes, lifting weights will help you loose the pounds. Recent studies have proven that weight lifting will decrease the size of your belly. The reason is because as you lift weights, you increase muscle mass. Muscle burns calories. Now combine weight lifting with cardio and you have a surefire way of decreasing your weight. |

the muscle is much more heavier( about 1.66 times ) then fat by volume. Lifting weight also helps decrease the body fat percentage by
1) increase in muscle mass
2) decrease in fat
So even if u will be losing fat by percentage it won't show on the weight scale due to the increased muscle mass. So therefore u r seeing no weight loss. |

the more muscle on your body the higher your metabolism will be. That means when you are sitting, standing, walking, or running you will be burning more calories and fat than you would without those muscles. Muscle also weighs 3 times more than fat, so it depends on what you are going for: Do you want to be in good shape or do you just want to be skinny? |

muscle built burns calories 24/7 but you'll need to adjust your diet and also cardio is what sheds the excess fat. Make sure your not overkill on the lifting your body needs time to recover and if your over training your body will actually produce more cortisol a fat storing hormone and can slow your metabolism... so over training is bad keep your lifting 4-5 times a week and workouts 1-1.5hrs your body only has so much Glutamine to use for quick energy after its used up your going to be burning muscle fibers for energy which is called catabolic. |

MUSCLE weighs more than fat. That should explain why you are not seeing a change in your weight. you are getting healthier, losing fat, and GAINING muscle by working out.
try combating the weight gain w/ healthy foods to lower cholesterol. |

Yes, lifting every day without a split or break is overtraining and can lead to injury or burning out. Arnold did cardio and you should too. |

You can decrease body fat percentage, but muscles weigh more than fat. |

I started this exercise program from Jorge Cruise called 8 minutes in the morning. He says you can completely make over your diet in 4 weeks just by lifting weights daily. Seems to be working for me. But you have to eat right also. |

Adjust your diet too. You will probably not show a big weight lose because Muscle weights more then fat if you are serious get a body fat thing (cant think of the name) you can problaby go to any gym have them measure your body fat and body muscle for you keep doing that and you will start noticing results not big ones at first but they will come. Eat Healthy lots of fruit and veggies!! meat is not all that good for us escpec. fried foods |

Diet and cardiovascular activities make you loose weight per say. Weight lifting actually increases weight, but that's due to muscle increase. Of course, lossing fats must be your priority, which means that a combination of weight training and cardiovascular exercises, would be your best bet for losing kilos. Besides, more muscle mass means your body would burn more calories in a whole day. |

i actually talked to a physical trainer today, and he said that, the one of the main things to do to loose weight, is to burn more calories than you take in.
ex..i eat 500 calories, i burn 600 or 550. though this is not just an hour at the gym, this is though out the entire day.
so as long as your burning calories enough calories while lifting weights, you should be doing ok. |

you won't lose weight by lifting, you will gain weight in muscle. to lose fat weight go on a diet or do exercise. After a few months, you WILL see muscle growth AND gain weight. don't use your weight as a measure of how in shape you are. go get a body fat test at the doctor or just look at yourself. if you continue lifting weights (which is great), you will gain weight. Just remember that to a weightlifter, WEIGHT MEANS SUCCESS! |
|

You don't know
 |
well that is because you are gaining muscle weight not loosing fat wieght. You should try a cardio workout. like swimming or running to loose the weight |
