Rough, Dry Skin?
The skin on my face is VERY dry and rough/bumpy. I use ProActiv but it doesn't work! It just stops my acne from growing anymore but doesn't get rid of it, plus it dries out my skin and makes me look unattractive. And if feels really annoying... For the past couple of days instead of ProActiv I've been getting a hot towel and rubbing it on my face with a little more force, it seems to work but I don't know if there's a better way... Does anyone have a technique that doesn't involve some kind of lotion or treatment?
Try jogging or working out. Sweating gets rid of the bad oils in your pores so that you don't have acne. And if you don't have acne, you won't need to use ProActive (which according to you drys out your skin).
(I'm a jog-a-holic lol. plus, after jogging, i just have so much energy and feel so good about myself... exercising is suppose to eliminate depression as well <- fun fact)
Or you can try eating salmon. Salmon has something that makes your skin smooth and nice. Read up on that: it's good for your skin... eat it once a week at least.
Research on foods with skin benefits.
and foods that hurt your skin.
i hope i helped =/

I have the same problem with my skin and for the worst part, it's also sensitive. When I use any type of lotion or moisturizer, it starts to really itch. I finally bought a daytime moisturizer made by Clarins from Macy's and it works great.

Be gentle with dry skin or it can get really irritated. Perhaps that's what is already happening. I would avoid rubbing your face so hard!
It sounds like you really need to see a dermatologist.
