invite a friend over, get all f*cked up, and laugh at how stupid you are, and swear you will never forget again.

take a cool bath or soak in a oatmeal bath that can be found at drug stores or use aloe and try not to lay down on the burn.

There's always Aloe Vera, but I would recommend something called Aquaphor healing ointment. I've used it myself. It's "advanced therapy for dry, cracked, irritated skin," so a sunburn should fall into that category. It's really good stuff. I used it once when my skin was peeling -- for some reason that I haven't been able to figure out. Just squeeze some out on your hands and spread evenly all over your face. It rehydrates the skin, and the best part is that it's not oily or greasy.

Put Aloe Vera on it. It works really good. It cools your skin.

Stay out of the sun when the rays are the strongest between 10:00a.m. and 3:00 pm.Seek shade whenever possible and drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.Take cool baths or apply compresses for relief and take tylenol or aspirin for pain.If you have a headache from the sun lie down in a quiet cool room for relief. There is nothing you can do about peeling it,s part of the healing process.Use lotion or aloe vera gel to relieve itching.

CVS, Walmart, KMart or Target (anystore like that) Should have some Aloe in their lotion or medication isle, buy a bottle of Aloe and keep your body hydrated by rubbing it ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL over (and then keep on rubbing as it dries up). Also drink LOTS of fluids, sunburn drys you out.

Take some pain asprin to dull the pain. Try to stay near the AC, your body is probably feeling super hot so you want to let that heat get off your body.

Keep appying aloe, or aloe gel that you can get at the store, every 30 minutes for the first day or so, and keep applying it as often as possible. aloe will help your skin heal.

Aloe and put cold towels or washcloths on your skin to pull the heat out.

There isn't much you can do to stop the pain. It will have to subside on it's own. Do not use butter or mayonaise as the old folk stories say. Greasy or fatty topical solutions hold in the heat and can potentially make things worse. Put a cold pack on the areas that hurt the most, try not to take any hot showers, and use aloe vera gel to prevent peeling.
Hope this helps
PS - store the aloe vera gel in the fridge

you should put Aloe Vera Gel on your sunburn it really helped my sunburn.

Micky b
aloe vera

Take an aspirin, put lots of aloe on it, and don't take too warm of a shower because it will make it worse for hours.

Aloe Vera is the best cure...it relieves it the burning pain. Vinegar also helps. But whatever you do, don't scratch or rub it. If it is really bad you may want to go to a doctor because you can have sun poisoning. Also wear clothes to cover all of the burn if you go outside.

put vinegar on it
it will take the pain away
dont bath the area that will irritate it
and when you can bear it moisturize

take yogurt, mix salt into it, olive oil, and vinegar. and if you feel like it, mash up a little garlic into there too. once you mix this all together, you get "burn mush"! spread it on your burns!

vinegar helps the stinging but it doesn't smell so great. Make sure you don't have plans later if you apply it.

Cheyenne Biolsi
Aloe Vera is best for your skin and does relieve.

But I've also heard that vinegar gets the sting out.

put aloe Vera lotion on or white vinegar even Noxzema will work to take the sting out.

1st degree and 2nd degree burns can easily be handled by placing cool compresses to the damaged area. You can also use over the counter medications but try to stay away from medications containing "cane or caine" at the end. People are sensitive to the pain relief medications. DO NOT PLACE OIL BASED PRODUCTS ON BURNS!! The old wives' tale about placing butter on the burn can actually do more damage. The oil based products can cause the pores of your skin to clog and keep the burn from 'breathing', thus creating infection.

Take anti-inflammatory medication, such as aspirin or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others), on a regular basis according to the label instructions until redness and soreness subsides.

Try taking a cool shower. NOT COLD. Taking a cold shower or bath can cause the body to go into shock. If you wish to take a bath, you can add vinegar to your water. The vinegar will take out the sting from the sunburn. You can also cook oatmeal and add it to your bath as well.

If you live near a creek, you can use the bottom stalk of the plant called "Touch-Me-Nots". Take the root section off the plant, and chop them into the blender. Though it looks gross and nasty, the juice from this plant, will take out the sting and itch. This also works well with poison ivy too. You can also use Calamine lotion to help relieve the itch. Freshly steeped chamomile herbs can help relieve the sting associated with sunburn too.

Potatoes can be used to relieve the pain from the sunburn. Take 2 potatoes and wash them well. Cut them into tiny chunks and place them into a blender. Liquefy the potatoes. If they are looking dry, add a little bit of water. Pat the areas with the potato juice. Wait until dry and then take a cool shower.

You can also make an oatmeal pack. Cook oatmeal and wait until it is cold. Place in the refrigerator if necessary. Again, taking a shower to remove the oatmeal pack.

Once you have accomplished all of this, apply a moisturizing cream, aloe or 1 percent hydrocortisone cream to affected skin. Ingest larger quantities of liquids as well as keep an eye out for signs of infection. Look for an evalation of temperature too. If there are any signs of infection, seek professional care at once!!

Solarcaine is the bomb for my sunburned skin. It takes the pain away with lidocaine and sooths/stops the burn with aloe. The best $7 ever spent after a hot day in the sun.

vineger's the best. also try not to move so much since whenever you move, it hurts

Pure aloe vera. It's even better if you use the actual plant. It cools the burn down, and definitely helps it heal quicker.

Do not use lotion/cream, it does not soothe at all and holds in the burns heat much longer.

If it gets really itchy or hot, place an ice pack on the area.

aloe vera lotion works wonderfulll...and try to just stay cool.

Try applying one of the cooling gels that are sold in the store now. They have aloe in them as well as lidocaine which is a numbing agent. (Or an aloe plant works well if you have one) You can take an over the counter pain reliever if you are uncomfortable an wear loose cotton clothing...as little as possible. Lying near a fan or under a ceiling fan also will make you more comfortable. And be sure to drink plenty of liquids to re-hydrate yourself.
