after spf 15, it stops working. at least that's what i heard. just be careful. sounds like you're doing a good job taking care of yourself. always go for a check up on beauty marks or moles at least once a year |

Don't worry about it! You are putting on spf 50! I think you will be fine-it's not like you are going to spend all summer inside!
P.S. To the person who said "after spf 15 it stops working"-
No-BEFORE spf 15 it doesn't work. It works BETTER after spf 15. Always wear at least spf 15. |

in the end tanning in the sun itself in 100x better than in a tanning bed. The sun does damage no matter what, and with you being closer to the pole, it could do more harm to you than it would people in the states. Bottom line, if you don't feel comfortable doing it, you probably shouldn't |

There is a LITTLE chance you could get skin cancer from irritation of the sun.Try staying in shade. :D
But since you use sun screen do not worry. :D |

whenever you get a tan (even a slight one) you increase your risk for melanoma, even if you wear sunscrean (but sunscrean helps alot!) |

well since you always wear sunscreen it protects you from cancer so ur chances of getting skin cancer is slim. I used to go out in the sun a lot with no sunscreen. I was super tan but now im like a ghost compared to people at my school xD |

i would go for your plan. i,ve known people with skin cancer. they never tan any more, and use sunscreen & hats. |

If your not burning you should be fine, most people only get cancer when they burn. Watch out for those chemicals in the sunscreen though, they can cause cancer. Find you some good chemical free sunblock, I think burts bees sells some. |

Our bodies are able to handle sun as long as we take care of it. It sounds like you take care of your skin with the sunscreen, and heat has a lot to do with it, too. Canada doesn't get as hot or bright as, let's say, Hawaii. So you should be okay. Just keep protecting yourself! |

As long as you keep wearing sunscreen you should be fine. |
|

HUH?

Well it is hard to say, but you have to remember that sunscreen (even spf50 or 100), only keeps you from getting burned. It does nothing for the actual effects from the sun exposure. If you know you have fair skin and are that concerned, I would make sure to wear clothing to cover your exposed skin. Read some more here: |
