First go see a dermatologist. They should know if it's skin cancer. Then go to a cancer specialist and/or a doctor. You need to figure out if it's cancer right away because, if it is, you will have a better chance of fighting it if you treat it in its early stages.
However, it could be a rash of some sort caused by the deoderant/soap/laundry detergent you use. If it's not cancer, change brands of the above items. It could also be some sort of heat rash, maybe...But I think skin cancer only occurs where it has been exposed to harsh sunlight, and armpits usually don't see the sun... |

i've never heard of melanoma itching but i would go to the doctor. it also could be a bug bite. my boss just had a red, circular looking spot that itched like crazy and it turned out to be a spider bite! no matter what though, go to the Doctor! |

most likely not there are to many other things it could be like an infected mosquito bite, see your doctor if ur really worried tho. |

You could be having an allergic reaction to something, you should put some anti-itch cream on it to see if it will stop itching. Also check with your doctor to make sure it is not cancer. |

I don't know about your area, but where I am, it is so hard to get an appt with a dermatologist. You should make an appt now, also, go see your primary care doctor. You may just have some sort of contact dermatitis and it could be nothing..I hope! |

Cancer is one of those diagnositics that can only be determined by taking a direct sample of the potential cancerous area and performing a growth test to determine its properties. Since you are concerned about the nature of this red spot I'd schedule an appointment with your doctor or health care provider immediately. Cancer is a disease you should not take any chances on. Cancer is best treated if diagnosed earlier than later so I wouldn't delay on scheduling an appointment. Besides wouldn't it be absolutly relieving to hear that the red spot is absolutely normal? And skin cancer is relatively easy to cure. I'd want to go asap just to find peace of mind. Good luck. |

Go and see your GP, only he/she can tell you if its is possible it is cancer. The earlier treatment starts if it is the better.
Good luck. |

You go to your doctor. He/She can help you more than anyone on Yahoo answers. And don't wait too long. Melonoma is curable if caught in early stages.
If it isn't anything then at least you have peace of mind. GO! TODAY!!! |

sounds like ringworm . |

It's possible that the deoderant you're using is irritating your pit. I had this problem a couple months ago. Itchy pit that got red and had raised areas on it.
So I changed deoderants and it cleared right up.
So try a different brand of deoderant. Maybe one that is fragrance free. If that doesn't work, go to a doctor. |

Dont research it on the internet that will just scare you... go see a dermatologist and they will know what to do... its better to go sooner than later... if it is cancerous they will just remove it... i had a few freckles/moles removed off my back and im fine now |

you have to see the pathologist |

Go to the doctor. That can be removed and if it is cancer it will be gone. It could also be from a bug bite, but the best way to know is to see a doctor. |

It sounds more like ringworm, which is an itchy fungal infection. Skin cancer does not itch, and is very slow growing - it does not noticeably grow in a week. Try and antifungal cream for a couple of days, and then see a doctor if the cream doesn't work. . |

Go to your doctor, or to a dermatologist.
Best of Luck! |

Well I can't see it so I dont know for sure but it could just be an irritated pimple. Of course, there is a chance it is skin cancer since you could identify with the picture, but the only thing you can do now is get to the doctors so they can remove it ASAP. If you wait, it could get worse and more developed. Take preventivtive action so that if it is cancer, they can get it off before it spreads or develops further.
All the best! |
