try clindamycin. it works great, it's FAR less expensive (costs about $15) it comes in a bottle with a sponge top on it like a bingo dabber. and the best part..... IT WORKS AND IT DOESN'T DRY YOUR SKIN OUT WHATSOEVER!! and there is virtually NO side effects. hope I helped!!

Accutane should be the last thing to try. There are serious side-effects associated with this drug. Your doctor may start you on some antibiotics, and recommend some products for you to use before even considering Accuane, which is only prescribed for severe cases. It's also pretty costly, I believe around $50 for a month supply.

i just got on accutane again and i have minor acne but i have a history of bad acne so they put me on it before it gets worse.
i was on it once before for only 2 months...thats why i think it came back. stay on it for as long as you can.
the side effects i got from it were mostly dry skin. i can not think of anything else. just do not get pregnant!!!
also to help the dry skin...drink lots and lots of water, put raw coconut oil on your skin at night and no it will not clog ur pores..it helps it moisturize your skin.
use aquaphor for your lips or vaseline too.
wish you luck!!
be aware that you have to take a pregnancy test, blood test, and an actual test online every month to take accutane!! but it is worth it!

Accutane is only for very severe acne. It does work. But if you have normal to moderate acne i dont reccomend it. You will grow out of it. The side affects are serious though. It dries out the body so you will have extremely dry skin and lips and will always need carmex for your lips. It will make you dehydrated as well. If your a girl you are required to take birth control because if you do get pregant it will have many health problems and be like an alien. It can cause depression. You also have to take blood tests to get it. And you take a few months then stop. if your acne isnt bad dont get it. just wash your face twice a day. use a alcohol free toner. you can also an oil free moisturizer. you should put that on before you put make up on but you shouldnt really wear makeup but everyone does. dont touch your face or hair on it. the oils will make it worse. drink lots of water too. im not a dermontologists so you can go and ask them if you really think you need it! hope this helps!

I have known many people to of used accutane and for many it is a miracle drug. Accutane is usually the last resort after trying other meds. I have been on accutane three times. The third time my acne was mild to moderate and I was still able to receive treatment. I do have to say that I did feel depressed while on the drug, but if you feel severely depressed then I would advise lowering your dosage or stopping treatment. My pains symptoms were dry skin and lips, nose bleeds and joint pain. The results for me outweighed the symptoms, but unfortunately I have been left with eczema on my hands. In the UK you can get it free on the NHS if severe enough, but there is a long waiting list. I paid to go private and the drugs for a six month period cost me 500GBP and each consultation cost me approx 130GBP plus the cost of a pregnancy test approx 30GBP monthly. I would advise trying other routes before opting for accutane. Good Luck!
