that's what happens when you follow trends, it could be that your throat is now less protected from car fumes and dust. |

its the toxins leaving your body, same happens when you give up alcohol, chocolate, fizzy drinks, your body craves them until all traces have left and youll feel like cr*p for a week or so. But great job so far, keep going. |

your body just has to adjust to not smoking anymore and clears out all the bad toxins..well done for giving up and sticking with it..i gave up nearly nine months ago and went through the same but it does get better..you will feel the benefits from it..best of luck.. |

Your body it trying to get rid of all of the tixins from smoking, and you are probably experiencing withdrawal symptoms (similar to the withdrawal symptoms drug users experience). Stick it out, you will start to feel better.
Congrats on giving up, keep at it |

Don't worry - my doc told me when I packed up smoking that the first 3 months will be the worst. He said I would get every illness going and he was right. I had coughs, sore throats, headaches, aching joints - you name it and I had it. I promise after three months you will feel better. I have not smoked now for over 2 years and my chest no longer wheezes, I don't cough and I don't even think about smoking. I used the patches given to me by the doc. and within three months, I had stopped. So keep it up and don't give in. You're athsma will feel bad because you won't be coughing so much to clear your lungs, so go to the doc and possibly get a different inhaler to clear the mucus from your lungs. |

you will feel ill for a while, your body has to get rid of all the crap the smoking caused. you will probably start coughing loads of mucous off your chest. you will feel better , although this may take some time. it will all be worth it in the end. |

cigs have cough inhibitors in them, when you stop, all the rubbish on your chest want to escape I suppose. Well done though stick with it |

I think your body is just working to get rid of all the toxins and nastyness, of coarse I could be wrong, in which case you might want to "consult a professional" lol
edit: here are some of the withdrawal symtoms: http://www.quitsmokingsupport.com/withdrawal1.htm |

When I stopped smoking, I apparently went through some kind of automatic detox. It was like having a cold for 2 weeks but without the fever or body aches. It sounds like this is what you're going through & when it's over you'll feel great.
The same thing happened when I stopped eating meat, oddly enough.
Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking & good luck with it. I know it's tough @ first but it's so worth it. |
