is it any use in giving up smokeing now?
i,m 60 years old now surely its to late i.ve been smoking since 14. that 44years.and how could i do it.

But it's always refreshing to try something new ! Give up tomorrow ! : )

It is never too late.It is that mentality that smokers adopt and they seem to think that it is not worth the effort. Well, it is worth the effort and so are you. Champix helped me quit after only one week. If you can afford it, go for it.It has been over 4 months for me now. I am done with the champix and have no cravings whatsoever. I have met people who smoked for over 50 years and it has worked for them. Good luck!

My grandmother quit at 66 because she had emphysema. You could quit right now and have a great life.

sure it wouldn't be too late.....good luck!!!!!

It's never too late to give up smoking, and if you quit now you will feel much healthier immediately. Give your poor lungs a rest from all that nicotine.

wow thats 44 long years !
i salute you , u only need to stop right now,,, i'm sure u have seen this in commercials ,online ,and everywhere that lungs and breathing changes to normal within like 15-20 min and increases in developing INSTANTLY ! and the air in your blood stream increases when measured !,,, that is only one tiny part of the whole quiting ,, look at finiacially i mean c'mon ! u can get more dough to buy a beautiful earrings u always wanted in no time !!!
do it kathy u can do it ,,,if u need support im here :)

It is never ever too late. If you quit you will have 30% more lung capacity within 3 months. Your cough and wheeze (I assume you have both) will start improving within 2/3 weeks and it will go within 3 months. You really will benefit so much if you quit. Also you are not giving anything up get that clear in your head, you are curing yourself of a horrible killer addiction that has controlled you for 44 years. What are the benefits of smoking? So what are you giving up?

You will find it hard no doubt about it but it will be so worth it. There is a great website where you can download a free e-book called www.whyquit.org. Please just go there and get the book its free and you have nothing to lose. Sure if you read it and keep smoking then you are in the same position as you are now.

aww its NEVER too late! Besides I don't think 60 is old!!!!

i would say no . i 48 year old now been smokeing since i was 15 . i would only give up if doctor told me i had to

Does not matter even if your eighty years old give it up you will feel so much better... Go to your GP they or their nurses can advise on the different ways of giving up and there are lots and they are so good at helping you. It is not easy but I really wish you well. Live long and prosper. ( Which you will at over £5 a packet....£35 a week....£140 a month.....£1680 a year...£77,360 over 44 years. All the best.

This same question i asked myself many a time.I am 55 and suffer now from copd and emphysemia and basically thought whats the point. Then i sat back and thought i am going to make myself worse the quaility of life is going downhill and its my own fault so am i going to keeps moaning about how i feel or do something that would help.So on the second of dec last year i stopped and you know something its only been 4 months and the difference is unbelievable.Ive more confidence not coughing now in a morning i just feel alot better.I did mine cold turkey and managed quite well but it dosent work for other so try different options till its the right one for you.Good luck i hope this has helped. You know the saying its never to late its true
