I have what I think are vericose veins from having DVT or bloodclots in my legs. Will they ever go away?
I recently got out of the hospital because of severe blood clotting in my legs. I had clotting throughout both legs and it was to the point where I was not able to walk. I have noticed that I have developed varicose veins in my groin area and upper thighs. Its very embarrassing. I never had this problem before seeing as I am only 20 years old. My family doctor said it is just because of the trauma the veins have gone through. My question is will they ever go away? or is this something I need to start getting used to? For the record I HAVE been taking an anticoagulant/blood thinner. Im on warfarin.

or many people, varicose veins and spider veins — a common, mild and medically insignificant variation of varicose veins — are simply a cosmetic concern. For other people, varicose veins can cause aching pain and discomfort. Sometimes the condition leads to more serious problems. Varicose veins may also signal a higher risk of other disorders of the circulatory system.

Varicose veins appear as snarled, bluish-purple lines, usually forming on the legs. The condition is caused when the veins weaken. The small valves in the vein lose the ability to push blood back up to the heart. As a result, the blood pools and the vein puffs up and becomes more visible under the skin.

Varicose veins are common, primarily affecting women. More than 20 percent of women develop some form of varicose veins, either during pregnancy or as they age. For many, varicose veins and spider veins (a mild and asymptomatic variation of varicose veins) are simply a cosmetic concern. For others, varicose veins cause severe, aching pain and may lead to more serious problems, such as skin ulcers and blood clots. A medical evaluation can determine the severity of the condition and treatment options.

There are herbs that can help with varicose veins, they shrink it. Also if you had blood clots in your legs there are powerful herbs for it too. The only thing is that if your doctor gave some medication to take I am not sure if it would be advisable to mix the two. So talk to your doctor.

You can read about it in this book, names of herbs are in the book.

Go to your doctor.

Usually they don't go away without surgery
My aunt had them and she saw a dr
They gave her these special stockings to wear and they helped a little--but what finally did it was the surgery

I've had varicose veins for years, and what helps a lot to reduce swelling and clotting are compression stockings (sometimes called support hose). Basically they keep all your veins supported so that blood can flow more easily in your lower body.

They come in a lot of styles and there are a lot of fashionable ones these days. Your doctor may even recommend some that would be covered by your insurance.
