Get drunk, or drink hot milk, or read. All good ways to fall asleep pick one. Tell me how it works out.

Vawewia
1. Take Valerian Root.
2. Take a lavender scented warm bath.
3. Breathe through your stomach for 30 minutes (When you inhale your stomach rises, when you exhale it falls)
4. Wiggle your toes and close your eyes.
5. Close all the lights and curtains and get under the sheets.

Happy snoring! :)

you have to get into a routine to sleep,i mean using a certain time when you tell yourself you start to become tired, just lay there and think of things your going to do tomorrow, that should help.

Maybe you have worked too much. Or have too much of thoughts. Try get relax your body and your mind before you go to bed. Take a long walk and a nice bath then don't drink tea or something makes you awake. Banana should be good for stomach and sleep after. Close your eyes, don't think anything.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress,
dietary and medical problems. By making
small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly,
insomnia can be cured. I found the information
at http://www.nosleep.in/insomniacause.html

I sometimes have success with stretching exercises.

Do you have something on your mind that you just can't let go? Try writing it down on paper.

Take a hot shower to calm your body and wash away the day.

Eat something carb-a-licious. Digestion pulls blood to the intestines and away from other parts of the body, like the brain, to grab the nutrients. This may help you sleep.

Do you enjoy drinking of alcoholic beverages? Alcohol can act as a sedative. I recommend moderation.

Step away from the computer! This thing is addictive!

I think I need to take my own advice...good night...?

Here are some tips for you (which I used to follow personally and fall asleep within the next 10 minutes!)

1) Drink a big cup of hot chocolate before going to sleep.
2) Read story books, especially those with fairy tales or bed time stories.
3) Listen to light and melodious songs, it will bring you straightly to fantasy land.

Good luck and hope it works on you too!!..

Xanax, Valium, Klotopin, Ativan, Lunesta, NyQuil, Tylenol P.M., Goodies P.M., Excedrin P.M., Unisom, or good old fashioned alchohol

That's worked for me

I can share with you how I sleep so good. First of all, my life is about balance. It is 4:00 a.m. local time as I write this answer and I have been up for two hours now. Daytime is upon me and I will do today what needs to be done - BUT - come about 6:00 p.m., the day is over and I will not deal with it again until the morning. Now (6:00 p.m.) is the time for me to start clearing my mind and get myself ready for bed by going through my day and finding things to be grateful for.

Then, when I'm ready to retire at around 8:00 p.m., I turn the TV to a music channel called "Soundscapes" and I allow the music to flow through me. Since I have the mindset that I will be asleep at the end of that half hour, I now fall asleep before the TV goes off. I also play "white noise." Specifically, I turn on a fan and a humidifier, which makes a white noise, which drowns out the silence and is comforting. I also make the bed before I lie down so that I have tight, crisp sheets. I also turn the AC on low to help lower my body temperature to help me sleep. I hope these suggestions help. If all else fails, use Ambian CR short term. Good luck.

i have a couple of ideas....

You can try a pill called "simply sleep" its by tylenol. It doesn't have all that pain relieving crap in there, it just helps your brain slow down and sleep.

watch/do something boring...it'll make you sleepy.

if you're absolutely NOT able to get to sleep, if there is something you can do around the house at that time in the morning, it couldn't hurt to work on it. Doing work might help you fall asleep!

Hí Amber. I also experience the inability to fall sleep sometimes. From my own experience on how to acquire a goodnight's rest, i suggest you take the following into consideration. Make sure that your bed is comfortable enough. If it's too hard you may want to put some blankets on your bed to sleep on, to create that soft, cushion effect. You need to then make sure that your pillow is comfortable enough. Here also, your pillow might be too firm or too soft. If your pillow keeps you awake because of it causing you discomfort then you may want to consider buying a new pillow. The temperature of your room should also be considered. Sometimes when it's very hot , it can make it difficult falling asleep. You may want to buy a fan to lower the temperature in your room, if that is indeed the case. Don't drink coffee or tea. These drinks contain caffeine which will keep you awake. Lastly, make sure that you clear your mind of all kinds of worrying thoughts. Thoughts such as your responsibilities or things which you have to do the next day. These thoughts are time consuming and keep you awake because these thoughts are stimulating your mind. Try and imagine a pleasant scene to help you fall asleep. I hope i have helped.

Looks like a lot of us can't.

Hey, do you keep a regular sleep cycle?

Meaning, if you sleep at 10 pm and wake up at 6 am, do this sleep routine everyday, including weekends, Sundays and public holidays.

If you don't keep this kind of regular sleep cycle, your brain is confused as to when you wanna sleep and wake up. It gets worse if you disrupt your sleep cycle by sleeping one night at 12 am, wake up 7 am, the next night 11 pm wake up 8 am....so on and so forth....

Your brain and your body follow an internal sleep clock in your body - which programs your sleep and wake up cycle.

So, try to regularise your sleep cycle and see how it goes. it should work.

i strongly suggest valerian root. it's great at relieving stress and tension! you can get it over the counter and it's a great sleep aid! if you have one of those "racing minds" or "i can't turn my head off no matter how tired i am" then this will definitely help. you can find at your local grocery store in the pharmacy or herbal remedy section. start off taking 500-1000mgs, 30-45 minutes before you go to bed. now you can get this stuff in capsule form and it's 100% safe (my whole family has been taking it for years and our family doctor actually recommended it) however the only downside is that the more potent the brand your taking the stronger the smell. and this stuff smells AWFUL! but it's worth it. within 5-7 days you should notice a definite change in your sleep.

WARNING! i strongly do not suggest that you take Tylenol PM and booze, in any form or combination. the main ingredient in Tylenol PM and Advil pm, or benadryl for that matter is diphenhydramine. here's what happens when you take it:
You can walk into a drugstore and choose from an array of sleep aids, offered without prescription. The main ingredient of over-the-counter sleeping pills is an antihistamine. Antihistamines are generally taken for allergies, but also make you feel very sleepy. Common over-the-counter sleep medications are Sleep-Eze, Sominex, Nytol, and Unison; they contain antihistamines such as:

diphenhydramine hydrochloride,
diphenhydramine citrate, or
doxylamine succinate.
In general, over-the-counter sleep medications are not a good choice because they:

Are not intended for long-term use.
Interfere with mental alertness during the day, so you should avoid driving and other similar tasks. You may also be at risk for falling asleep
Reduce the quality of your sleep by reducing time you spend in deep sleep.
Use over-the-counter sleep medications only for transient or short-term insomnia and in conjunction with changes to your sleeping habits. Be sure to pay attention to your body’s physical response to these sleep medications.
