I'm super tired during the day What's happening?
I've noticed I have less energy in the day by the time I get home from work I'm exhausted, (I usually get close to 5-6 hours of sleep a night). I also noticed I have bizarre hot and cold flashes (i'm 24, can't be menopause) any ideas?

don't rule out menopause it can happen early like it did with my mother. also it might be a common cold but stress from work can really make it worse. but i really have to say to go see a Doctor cause no one one line can or should give u medical advice.

You may want to have your doctor test your thyroid. I had similar symptoms and was diagnosed hypothyroid.

You need more than 5-6 hours of sleep a night. Im 21 and the same thing was happenin, I work a 9-5 job come home eat and feel exausted, when I thought I was getting enough hours of sleep (5 hours a night) I thought I was fine, the doctor said it was a sleeping disorder. Go see a doc for help.

maybe you have sleep apnea where you're not getting enough restful sleep and need to be tested. people who have sleep apnea usually snore and then the doctor puts them on a c-pap machine and the snoring quits and they get more restful sleep and aren't as tired.

I think you need more sleep. Maybe it is a lack of iron? I would suggest trying to get more sleep and if it persists, go to your doctor. It could be something like a thyroid problem which causes all of your symptoms and is easily treatable.

Get more sleep, and if that doesn't do it, go to the doctor. It could be a varity of things, diabetes, for one. When you have high blood sugar, the body can't use food properly and you have less energy. And, yes, you could be going through pre-mature menopause. But, most likely, you are burning the candle at both ends, so get plenty of sleep at night.

You should really be getting more sleep, 7-8 hours and you should look at your diet. Both what you eat & when you eat it during the day.

Try eating a good, nutritious lunch & eating some smart snacks in the mid afternoon. If you're a soda drinker, I would just drop that entirely. Drink water or flavored waters & stay hydrated. Try different kinds of snacks & water flavors so you can vary what you eat & drink to keep it interesting.

Also, if you're not taking some type of multi-vitamin, give one a shot. You might be missing some essential nutrients from your diet. Remember, this is not an overnight fix. You're body will need time to recover.

Do you work a physically demanding job? Is your job in a normal work environment or a factory, kitchen, or outdoors where you might be subject to different temperatures throughout the day.
Get more sleep and talk to your doctor.

ideally, you should get 7-8 hours of sleep/night. if that is not possible, simply try taking a nap when you get home from work. 24 or not, you need the rest. never heard of anyone getting cold flashes, so sorry, can't help you there.

Have your blood checked. You may be anemic. Try more iron and/or a multi-vitamin. Get more sleep.

You could go do with 2-3 more hours of sleep a night. Try going to be earlier. If that doesnt work try to take a short nap during the day. Make sure it doesnt go over 35 minutes though...that'll just make you more tired. You could also try a snack of brain food like popcorn or nuts.

The National Sleep Foundation maintains that 8 hours of sleep is optimal, claiming improved performance in tests, reduced risk of accidents and a better immune system. Fatigue is typically the result of working, mental stress, jet lag or active recreation, but also from boredom or disease or simply lack of sleep. It may also have chemical causes, such as poisoning or mineral or vitamin deficiencies.

When chronic (meaning of six months or more duration) it is a symptom of nearly 30 different diseases. Post exertional fatigue, also known as exercise intolerance, is however far more rare, and is primarily found in organic brain diseases, mitochondrial disease, and neuromuscular disease. If you have chronic fatigue, go see a doctor.
