i have severe acne, but i almost feel guilty that i'm upset about it.?
I'll explain...
There are kids all over the world just happy to be living another day. There are kids dying from cancer, diabetes, hunger, soo many deadly diseases, and here i am upset and stressed over harmless bumps on my face. I've had acne for about 6 years and have tried absolutely everything and have spent hundreds of dollars trying to fix it and nothing works.. the only medicine thats ever worked for me is minocycline, but i became allergic to it. i cry a lot and i'm always upset, but sometimes i feel guilty that i'm upset over something so silly when there are kids all over the world suffering from things who have a million times more reason to be upset. So i try to be happy and try to accept it and be thankful for the things that i have.

ok so i guess i dont really know what my question is, but you can give advice, or tell me what you think if you want.

i think you should wash your face every night.stop eating greasy foods, and try not to feel stress just go with th flow.it works if that doesn't(which it should)i cant help. i hope this will work!!!!!!!! and have fun.

I would try not to feel bad about it. Yes, many people would love for acne to be their worst problem. However, it is just practical hygiene to try to get rid of the acne.

dark angel
Nina,I know how you feel.I too cant seem to get over my own problems some times.I know that there are a lot of people that would love to be me and it is something I just cant shake.Sorry you feel bad.

Acutane worked for me.

There are many different types of acne treatment that people can use. Just about everyone you know has some kind of magical remedy. Log on to http://tipsfromruby-acne.blogspot.com/ for a few home made tips to heal acne

Hun don't feel bad...I have pretty bad acne myself.
I think I've tried just bout everything as well... best thing I can reccomend is what worke best for me drink LOTS of water...sounds cliche but its true..eat lots of veggies and fruit.
Avoid alot of acid eg. tomatoes, pasta sauce, etc
as well as junk food like chocolate, chips...the normal drill.
once in awhile wont hurt just make sure you don't scarf down the whole bag!
also avoid alot of dairy like cheese because of the oils in it and yogurt because of the cultures.
And do not feel guilty!
Just because there are people out there with bigger problems than you DOES NOT mean that your pain and suffering doesnt count.
good luck

You need to take care of yourself first. If you're skin is bothering you...the fact that others are suffering around the world does not mean you should make yourself suffer needlessly. Its a hard thing to take care of. Watch your diet, take the prescribed medications your doctor advises...and then do one other thing.

You are associating two things that have no common correlation. Do some research out on the web and find a way to get involved with helping the people that you are letting eb into your life through their suffering. They can't necessarily help it that they are suffering. But sitting their fretting over their situation and not doing anything about it is obviously not doing anything for your self esteem.

So stop worrying about the things you cannot control and start being proactive to make changes in the world.

Don't feel bad for feeling bad about having acne. It really great that you acknowledge the fact that there are people less fortunate than you are. There's always going to be someone in a worse situation but that doesn't mean that your situation isn't important or invalid. Most people don't even think the way you do so that's really great.

and dude your not the only one.
everyone thats gone through puberty has it..
breakouts come from clog in your face.
probably less moisture in your face.
oil all over your face (wash those off)
and could happen with what you eat. i stay away from spicy food where im from its common for everyone to breakout from spicy / hot food.
ive been handling my face very well..
i breakout i try not to stress cause it gets worse that way.
just stay cool and collected.
and the guilty stuff? just shake it off..you got your life to live; but you still can support..i support animal cruelty.!
well just you know keep it cool.

Don't feel guilty, you can't help that you feel upset about it. I have acne and I have about 5 acne scars and I can't help but feel depressed.

You should stop waisting your money on products and don't touch them because the more you touch them the worst it gets.I've heard that you can brush your teeth real good, then get a cotton ball and wet it with your own siliva and you may get results in about a weak, some people think it's gross but sometimes things that are strange might work. If you do it good luck.

If you feel upset about the acne in the first place, you can do without the added guilt you experience. You can't choose the situation you are born in and the universal problem of starvation and disease is not your fault and there isn't a lot that you can do about it on your own. The fact that you think about such things on a seemingly regular basis proves to me that you are a caring person compared to people who don't care about those issues. Basically, you have nothing to feel guilty for.

Edit: there are people more worse off than you, but there are also people more better off aswell. If the worlds wealth was shared, there would be about 7 billion poor people (the worlds population), maybe it is better than some people have a better life at the expensive of others, its just a shame that we can't choose who doesn't get a share of the worlds wealth; the crooked, evil, nasty and cruel people in the world. They should feel guilty, not you.

So you are entitled to no pain in your life because there is always someone who is worse off than you? That's ludicrous!
I suppose you are a really selfless person, which is kinda good in a way, but you need to strike a balance. Acne for years on your face will most likely cause scarring, I think I would be upset about it.
You can worry about the world and yourself at the same time, try to think of yourself a little more. But if this is your way of not dwelling on it then I guess you are doing a good job.

i tell you what might be worth going to see your doctor you sound depressed. But have you tried tea tree products they are good but ur doctor may be able to reconmend something else. Also I have very bad dry skin and was told that some soaps used on your face can cause problems so was advised to use just water to wash my slef worth a go as well

Whether you're a teen or an adult with acne, you don't have to simply put up with it. Here are 14 ways to get rid of acne.
1. Don't pick, press, rub, or otherwise manipulate your pimples. If you do, you risk spreading the bacteria and increasing the chances of scarring.

2. Use an over-the-counter product containing benzoyl peroxide once or twice a day. It helps break up the plug of dead skin cells, bacteria, and oil that clogs the pore and forms an acne blemish. And it cuts down on the bacteria, too. Start with the lowest concentration, and work your way up.

3. Try over-the-counter products containing sulfur or resorcinol, which help unplug oil glands by irritating the skin. However, most dermatologists believe that benzoyl peroxide is the most effective over-the-counter ingredient for acne.

4. Don't just spot-treat acne; put the product on acne-prone areas, too. That can include your entire face (avoid the lips and eyes), back, and chest.

5. Go easy on your face. Washing removes oils from the surface of the skin, not from within the plugged ducts. In fact, if you're too aggressive in your quest for cleanliness, you may end up drying out or irritating the sensitive skin on your face.

6. Wash properly once or twice a day, using a mild soap, and rub lightly with your fingertips and warm water. If your skin is oily, use a soap with benzoyl peroxide for its drying properties.

7. Don't use brushes, rough sponges, cleansers with granules or walnut hulls, or anything similar on the delicate facial skin.

8. Don't use oily products, such as hair pomades, heavy oil-based facial moisturizers, or oily cleansers.

9. Use water-based make-up.

10. Don't get a facial. You may end up doing more harm than good.

11. Don't rest your chin on your hands or constantly touch your face.

12. Protect your skin from cancer and wrinkles without aggravating your acne by choosing an oil- free sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher.

13. Don't worry about what you eat, unless you notice a correlation between a particular food and your skin breaking out.

14. Watch out for iodine, which can be found in multiple vitamins and iodized salt. Some doctors believe iodine may encourage acne.

Acne Rosacea
If you're over 40 and suddenly develop severe acne, you could be suffering from acne rosacea. This is a different disease from acne vulgaris, the medical name for your garden variety of acne.
Here's how to tell the difference. Acne rosacea is characterized by redness, inflammation (swelling), and dilated blood vessels. Further clues: You don't have any blackheads, the acne is located mainly on the central part of your face (nose and cheeks), and you have a lot of pustules (pus-containing pimples).

There's not much you can do on your own for acne rosacea, but a dermatologist can treat it. Just be especially careful about avoiding the sun.

Try and Talk to your docter about it too.!

Good Luck!
