I had them at 14 when trying to fly remote control aircraft as a hobby, soon gave that up. |

They're not necessarily bad.. but they could be a sign of a couple eye problems.. such as detached retina, glaucoma... the only way to really know is to see your eye doctor. |

I have an almost constant one. I'm 16 as well. I've heard rumors that it means your retina is detaching, but I doubt it. They go away eventually. |

My eye doctor said no, not bad at any age. They just happen, I have a ton in my left eye but none in the right. Wierd, huh? Please don't think this is medical advice, follow through with your eye doctor. |

I have them ,too and I see silvery lines with quick movement. My eyes are great. I was told its because I have migraines and migraines come in different forms, thats one way. |

My Father age 80 had floaters prior to a detached retina. After surgery he still has floaters and terrible eye site. "One looks like a donut", he says. Good Luck. |

Floaters are normal. When you go for your eye appointment, tell them about it and how you are worried, they will take a good look (which they probably would anyway). |

Excessive floaters are a sign you have been wanking it too much. Seriously, I'm not joking. |

Could be what's called myiodeopsia. What you call "floaters" appear as shadow-like shapes that appear in one's field of vision. These "floaters" could be due to degenerative changes of the vitreous humour or retina. You are only 16, so it could be a lot of other things. Thankfully you have an eye appointment soon. Stay busy and try not to worry too much for now:) Good luck! |

maybe be just a spec of dust or a sign of high blood sugar or a few other things. talk to your parents and let the eye doctor know about them. |

They are Harmless and there is nothing they can do about them (if they are true floaters). I have them and got used to them quickly. Very common among us older folks. |

floaters ccan be confused for something "spiritual" as well... like energy... so keep that in mind... if you only see it when you look at the sky it is probably energy.... So yeah... feel special... beleive me or don't.... But I thought I would clear up the confusion for people
you could try google-ing this but I doubt anyone will support this answer... |

Floaters are not what you should be worried about. If the floaters are like sheets and waves, then you should be worried.
I had floaters when I was young and the opthomologist said it was nothing to worry about. |
