I would try Abilify. Abilify is commonly used to treat Bipolar Disorder, but could be used to treat depression. Some of the side affects may include hyperactivity or nausea. Ultimatly it will take about 4 to 6 weeks for the medication to settle in your system. |

Your depression could be caused by a vitamin deficiency. Nothing worked for me either until I started exercising and taking vitamins. I feel great! Take a Multi, Fish oil, and B vitamins are super important. I also meditate by chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. Check out the website, its really amazing how it works.
Good Luck :) |

You need to know that xanax will not help with depression. it is for anxiety. Sometimes with depression you will have an anxiety disorder also. Your psychiatrist is the best one to prescribe antidepressants. You have to remember that the first one may not work so you try another. Some work for some people and they may not help others. It all depends on the individual. I am glad that you are going back to a psychiatrist. You just have to hang in there and keep trying until you find the meds that are right for you. Never stop taking your medications for depression. I am so sorry that you are going through this but there is help. Take Care! |

Zoloft was the best for me. This was after I tried many other things. I was actually happy for once. It was amazing! However, everyone is different. There are new meds now..so the only thing you can do is talk to your doctor and give those a try. You also have to check each one by upping the dose until it works. I had to go from the smallest (mg) of Zoloft to the largest milligram to be content.
I hope you are going to get help. I understand how you feel and how paralyzing this can be. If you ever need to chat...please contact me. I will know exactly how you are feeling. Trust me...you will get better. |

Please look into healing the cause of the problem. A really good therapist would help you more than meds. Especially in the long haul.
Heal the pain and you will find peace. |

You need to consult with a psychiatrist. He/she should be well versed in the different types of medication. Some people try MANY different meds before finding one that works really well for them. And it could take some time to hit the correct one for you.
I disagree that you necessarily need therapy. Some forms of depression are caused by chemical imbalances in the brain and medication corrects these imbalances.
Best of luck to you, |

I would talk to your doctor about this. Tell him/her what has and what hasn't worked for you and then he/she can help you from there. |

Different medications have a different effect on certain people. Some things that would work for me may not work for you. I recently struggled with depression and tried Lamictal and it had no effect on me, but the turnout could be different for you. Turned out it was just something I had to get through on my own. It took a while, but I thought it was better for my body than medication would have been so that may be an option as well, depending on how severe your depression is. I know what you're going through and I wish you the best of luck! |

Welbutrin worked for me for a little while (4-6 months) with few side-effects. But I've been taking over-the-counter Omega 3's (fish oil pills)for a little over six months and they've been working great with no side-effects. That coupled with a few sessions with a therapist should help. |

I take Wellbutrin SR (150 mg) in the morning, and Lexapro (10 mg) in the evening, for depression and anxiety. I've been taking that for over a year and a half, and it's working very well for me.
The Wellbutrin SR seems to help me to be more alert and active - and wanting to do things - while the Lexapro makes me more mellow, and it helps me sleep better, too. |

Sometimes a change in your life is always good. Just take a leap of faith and do sumthing that youve always wanted to do. You're not happy with your life as it is. Do sumthing that youve had a fear of doing. Live your life the way youve always wanted to. Wanted to live in sumwhere exotic...do it.. If you have no kids and apparently no husband, whats stopping you...DO IT!
I did it and its great!
Life is what you make so stop being depressed and take a leap of faith. |

Sounds like you should speak with a psychiatrist. They are the best equipped doctors to help you find the best medication to suit your needs, as well as offer some psychological counseling to go along with it. Everyone responds differently to medications so what works for one person may not work as well for you. Professional help seems to be the best option for you since it is affecting your life so greatly. |

Miss your best bet is to talk it out with somone, seriously relying on meds isin't all that needs to be done i would strongly suggest going to a psychiatrist and talking about your issues with them then they'll prescribe you with what they see fit, i believe that would be best.
:[ good luck miss
i hope you feel better! |

Meds alone dont usually work. You also need therapy. Are you seeing a therapist ? |

Go see a therapist and psychiatrist, They are teh only ones that can diagnose you correctly. They will tell you how much you need to take and they can help you get over this slowly. Don't just take the medicine and then stop when you think you're better. Make sure to follow the plan of your therapist. They really help. Trust me. |
