agoraphobia is a fear of crowds.

Anthropophobia -- Fear of people lol xD

Aspergers or other Autism spectrum disorders tend to cause socialization issues.

Chez W
Agoraphobia is a fear of crowds and crowded places. More likely your referring to an anti-social personality disorder or more accurately your introverted.

You could have anxiety

It's called anti-social.

Agoraphobia is a fear of leaving a safe place, or fear of open/public places.

Antisocial and it's not an insult..that's really what it's called.

it could be Ochlophobia .
or you just don't like being surrounded .

Proud Mom Of Twins
To me you seem shy, or maybe you're afraid of being hurt. Antisocial, or maybe Misanthropic.

Maybe introverted. I'm the same way.

No, it's not a disorder. I'm sick of everything being labeled as a "disorder" nowadays. Some people just feel anxious and nervous when around other people. This is just a personality thing that many people have to deal with. It's something you need practice with. The more you are around people, the more used to it you will get. Not everyone is a natural social butterfly, so it's OK to have to take some time to get acclimated to being in the company of others.

you dont have very good social skills i assume. your introverted which means you like to be by yourself a lot. i just think that you like to be on your own, but don't let people get you upset try to deal with your stress and conflict in a positive way

No, most people are retards and morons. Look at most answers here. Go to the DMV and just look at your normal run of the mill ****** waiting to get a drivers license.

Not really Anti-Social, I feel like that all the time, It's not a disorder, but more like a trait.

Cire 747

its horrible!, its subconscious too. im trying to get a grip on it right now,
write down the things that get u fired up and stressed!, WRITE THEM DOWN
look at them and reflect about how u feel, then step outside of your shoes and look at yourself. and write down what u honestly see. how u percieve yourself, is exactly how you display yourself.

I Couldn't Care Less

Please, PLEASE ignore everybody who has said you are "anti-social."

I am a psychologist and sociologist, and anti-social DOES NOT mean you don't like to be around people. It means you do not follow social rules and norms, violate the rights of others, and have little to no empathy.

You are not scared of people, so you don't have agoraphobia. I am guessing that you have a lot of stress in your life, perhaps worried about grades or friends/family members, and are easily irritated when people bring more stress into your life.

It's not wrong to enjoy or prefer being by yourself. I am a INTP personality type, I very much dislike working in groups and would prefer to be at home than at the mall with friends. So don't worry about it too much, unless it starts to really affect your ability to live life. If it does, talk to a counselor about ways to deal with stressful people.

I wish you the best of luck~

It's called being an introvert. We gain our energy by being alone and we get drained by being around other people.

Other people, social people, are extroverts. They love being around others and get bored easily being by themselves.

It's jut a type of personality and no kind of disorder.

There is anti-social disorder, but I think that's in much more severe cases. For people like you (and me, for that matter), it's probably more of just a preference thing. We like to be alone. Nothing psychologically wrong with us. It's not like you can't handle being around people, you just prefer to have time alone. Being with lots of people can be stressful to anyone.

Social Anxiety Disorder

Social anxiety is the fear of social situations and the interaction with other people that can automatically bring on feelings of self-consciousness, judgment, evaluation, and inferiority.
Put another way, social anxiety is the fear and anxiety of being judged and evaluated negatively by other people, leading to feelings of inadequacy, embarrassment, humiliation, and depression.

If a person usually becomes anxious in social situations, but seems fine when they are alone, then "social anxiety" may be the problem.

Social anxiety disorder (formerly termed "social phobia") is a much more common problem than past estimates have led us to believe. Millions of people all over the world suffer from this devastating and traumatic problem every day, either from a specific social anxiety or from a more generalized social anxiety.

In the United States, epidemiological studies have recently pegged social anxiety disorder as the third largest psychological disorder in the country, after depression and alcoholism. It is estimated that 7-8% of the population suffers from some form of social anxiety at the present time. The lifetime prevalence rate for developing social anxiety disorder is 13-14%.

Perhaps talking to a school counselor might make you feel better. You should be enjoying this time in your life. I think you are fine, but you only told use very little of your situation and I don’t know how uncomfortable you get around people. Plus, you are going to want to learn way to make it more comfortable for you to be around just to get you though life with a little les stress and a little more ease. Don’t be afraid to seek out information and help when you need it. Especially when you are in school and it is free for you!

don't really think so, for some people it is a big energy drain to deal with social events or people.... others thrive on the company.

Social anxiety is real and while it can be labeled it is also true that sometimes we do best to recharge our batteries by having alone time. This is called being an introvert. This does not necessarily mean that you can't be around people, but it just simply drains you for long periods of time. A person can overcome that, but there is nothing wrong with it either. I personally have gone through periods of time being an introvert but have also been on the other side while being a teacher and drawing my energy from being around my students. Its just about keeping your life in balance and truthfully there are some people and issues that will drain you just by hanging with them. You will find your balance. Always find a good mentor that you can learn from to follow after. Good role models will help you maintain your own integrity and healthy balance.

I like you already. I can't stand crowds if I don't have to be in them. but I don't have a problem when it's necessary.

You are introverted. I'm sure if you were alone for a month, you would want to see someone, wouldn't you? But you don't need to be in contact with people constantly, you are happy being by yourself much of the time. You aren't antisocial if you like others, but just like to be off by yourself a lot, or get overwhelmed if there are too many people around too much of the time. You do not have a social phobia - you are not afraid of others.

There is nothing wrong with being introverted. The only problem is if you fail to maintain any social connections at all - when you have hard times, you will need others, so you should put some effort into maintaining relationships. Otherwise, you are more likely to have depression later in life.

the way I figure it - if you are extroverted, you gain "energy" by being with others. If introverted, you restore your energy when you are alone.

I'm the same way - a lone wolf with good social skills. There's lots of us out here - it's not a disorder if you simply like being by yourself. It's only a disorder if you obsessively avoid human contact. People can be a pain in the a**. I get tensed up, especially when I'm in a crowd, and people are being inconsiderate- like blocking an escalator or an entrance, or whatever.

As long as your able to get along with others, and can behave appropriately when in a social situation, you have nothing to worry about.

It could be a social phobia, but maybe you just enjoy your own company......nothing wrong with that. Some people need more quiet time than others. Don't fret it.

Best wishes, Genevieve
