well if u drink alot while taking pills to sleep, its probably causing you most of these problems. alcohol and medicatoin doesnt mix too well,. it seems more like you have anxiety and depression. tell your doctor about this, ask about lexapro, its made for anxiety and depression both. this is one of my prescriptions, as part of a combination, and it works okay for me |

It can be depression if those symptoms lasts more than two weeks, if it's just a few days, it may be a case of blues what I call, everyone has a bad day once in a while. If this is something that has been going on for a while, I would suggest visiting a specialist (psychologist or psychiatrist) who can assess the situation and either get you on some prescription anti-depressant, get counseling or a combination of both. |

Yes, these are signs of depression. Do you have someone to talk or open up to? If not, I recommend that you see a counselor to talk to.
Here is a website that I would like you to check out.

kinda a combination of "grandeur delusion, paranoia, mild schizophrenia, major depression" and insomnia..
im just a psychology student, not exactly that I could prescribe or anything like a psychiatrist..but I suggest if these feelings persist that you take any mild stimulant(s) such as caffeine, ephedrine..or any over-the-counter stimulants
(dont get too addicted though :D)
if you'd like to know more get your hands on this
"DSM 4" |

it could be..but only a therapist can help you determine whether it's situational depression or chemical depression, or both..do you have anyone you can talk to to help you find a therapist, would you consider that? there might be a way for you to be able to stop those thoughts and feelings..at least to manage them. |

It sounds to me like you may have symptoms of panic disorder or anxiety disorder. You could also be depressed or even bi-polar. There is no way any of us on Answers (unless there's a a doctor in the house) could tell you for sure. You should make an appointment with a Psychologist as soon as possible. |

yeh, speaking from personal experience, ive experienced a few of those symptoms. Its not nice to feel it or go through. But if you can find someone to speak to about it, then do so to get it off your mind. I used a diary to vent my feelings and it helped me alot!
I recently asked a question like this... I'll post it for you so you can read some of the answers.
EDIT: Here it is, hope it might be able to help you. Feel free to email me if you wanna talk.

Hi :]

Yes, they can be. If this is constantly happening, maybe talk to someone about it. You can try keeping a journal to express your strong feelings bout feeling abandoned or worthless. Thats what I did when I felt depressed but I had it at school and my teacher read it and they had a fit and called my parents. :) So just make sure you have it hidden somewhere secret, or just make sure you are aware of who may read it and where it is taken. I hope I helped :) Smile more often and dont think about the word depression. The more you think about it the worse this may become. Dont be afraid of life or afraid or loosing you or someone else. Changes will happen... but dont hide in a corner your whole life. On the days you feel lonely talk to a friend or family and just relax. Good luck. |

I personally think depression comes in so many different packages that it depends on the personality of the person as to what the symptoms are. For instance, I have been depressed before and I didn't have any of those symptoms. I just felt unhappy. However, I have had those symptoms you describe but it's menopause.
To determine if you indeed are depressed, you would have to be more detailed. For example, for how long have you felt these "symptoms"? When do you feel the "symptoms"? Things like that. Talk to someone who would have better knowledge.

The symptoms are similar, I suffer from depression from time to time as well (no pills though). I would go jogging or for a long walk and honestly it helps. If this doesn't work I would go to the doctors. Or alternatively contact a depression website (of which there are plenty) and discuss with them how you feel, they are the professionals and should be able to help you.
You're not worthless, you owe it to yourself to get yourself out of this slump, and the only person that can do something about it is you. You deserve to be happy |

Hello Houston Girl, I repeat what i just wrote for another person.
Please practice what I tell you now.
Get up early morning at 6. am. Squat in a comfortable place with folded legs. Keep your back straight. Close your eyes. Take deep breath 20 times. While remaining in a comfortable position with no pressure on any part of your body, slowly count 100 to one. Repeat in your mind that You are totally relaxed. Check every part of your body starting form toe confirm mentally that that part is relaxed. Once your reach your head, repeat that you are totally relaxed and only your mind is working. Now repeat 100 times that you will have no more anxiety and you will live like a healthy person. once you finish repeating it. Say that you are going to wake up at the count of five. and then do it. If you practice this meditation technique, you can get rid of your problem easily and quickly . Try it. It works.
You seem to have less confidence and self Esteem. Built up courage and confidence. Everything will be OK |

I've read the other responses. Depression and anxiety go hand-in-hand. You are going to need some medication and some talk therapy. At least you have taken the first step by asking your question. My one recommendation is: Try to NOT get caught up in the mental health system. If you have a Mental Health Association in your area, contact them. Their goal is to keep people out of the hospital; they teach coping skills; they give you a place to go where your peers understand what you are going through. They do not offer any treatment, but they will help you find the right place for you to receive treatment. |

Could be symptoms of something else, ask a professional. |

Yes you have symptoms of depression/anxiety.
You need to get immediate care, as in 911 or a hotline if you feel that you are a danger to yourself or others.
If it is not that dire, just talking to your primary care physician about your feelings would be a good start. He or She could work with you to have a meeting with a counsel or a psychiatrist just for an evaluation (it doesn't mean you are crazy or anything, it's pretty typical) to see if you might benefit from some sort of antidepressant.
If you are feeling like you are in danger, have any suicidal thoughts, or have gone as far to plan your death, you need immediate medical attention.
Just remember, many people deal with clinical depression everyday and live happy lives with the help of therapy, medication, or both.
Good luck and try to keep your chin up! |
