Mono is a kissing disease

Melissa Rae
They call mono the kissing disease because it can be spread that way, but I'm not sure if that is exactly what you are talking about. You cannot die from mono as long as you get it taken care of. It's a very common condition and people are treated for it all the time.

mono is referred to as the kissing disease.
never heard of anyone dieing from it, just contagious.

who has said she has it? glandular fever is sometimes referred to as the kissing disease as its easily transmitted via kissing. If its that its not nice but she won't die from it. Try googling it

glandular fever is called the kissing disease it can be very nasty and last a few weeks you have no energy and all the glands in your body ache it is nasty but never heard of anyone dying from it it is normally caught in the teens but i have heard of younger children getting it

Infectious mononucleosis (Glandular fever) is called kissing disease.

orange sky
it's called mononucleosis. and no you won't die from it. but you become very tired and achy. you can catch it from an infected person just sneezing around you. not just from kissing.

It is very rare to die from the disease known as infectious mononucleosis (or glandual fever, mono,m kissing disease). Tell them to go to their doctor ad ask for a blood test.

It's a term used to refer to glandular fever (Infectious mononucleosis).

Obviously, it's not a term that you tend to hear used very much nowadays.

Take a look at the following site for an easy to understand view of it.

LOL i had the 'kissing disease.' Its proper name is glandular fever. It makes you really tired and can affect you for about 5 years. I was off school for 4 months. It's most common in teenagers. You cannot die from it!!! Although it can make you so tired that you faint, or fall asleep in wierd places. ( I once fell asleep after my bathroom floor, because i did not have the energy to walk a few metres back to my sofa)

Do not worry about it. It's really not that bad. If you have anu more questions email me. Hope this helps x

Dr Frank
It is a nickname attached to glandular fever, also known as infectious mononucleosis or ' mono'. This is a common viral illness affecting all ages but often in teenagers. here it may indeed be spread by kissing.

It is normally a mild but long lasting infection. there have indeed however been about 33 fatalities described in the literature.
