very high!
one of my friends back in high school had mono and was sneezing a lot and got at least 4 classmates infected.
you should drink lots of orange juice and things that would help your immune systems. |

Mono is extremely contagious. Keep your eye out for symptoms, and if you have any then go see a doctor pronto! |

There's a very good chance you will get sick considering mono is spread through spit. |

Pretty good, it's very contagious. But it does matter how long he has had it, and if it is close to remission. |

VERY contagious? Mono ("kissing disease") is spread rapidly in a population of young people. Be very careful of whose cup you use in the future.
If you start feeling achy and lose your appetite, etc. within the next two or three weeks that may be a sign that you have contracted it. The good thing about Mono is that the only treatment is simply bed rest good meals. You usually don't have to take any medicine. The bad thing is that there is a long down time; usually a month or more. |

When my mom was about 17, she got mono from a plate or fork or something in foods class, when they weren't washed appropriately. So, pretty contagious. Tell your mem or dad, and go to the doctors. There may be something they can do before you feel symptoms.
Hope that helps. Good Luck! |

If he/she is in the early stages of mono, it is contagious. But if your friend has had it for 3 or more weeks, it is probably contagious. Add more info to your question. How long has he/she had it? Did you know he/she had mono? Did you drink from the same side as them? |

it depends if they are at the contagious part. you'd have to get checked out by a dr to tell |

Mono is one of the most infectious diseases. Close to 95% of the American adult population has been infected with it at some point in their lives and it stays in their system forever.
Any don't go on a vitamin c, orange juice binge like the above posters said. First, it is not proven that vitamin c helps the immune system and secondly, your immune system probably won't do any good in fighting it. (Plus, you might have been infected already and don't know)
Also even if you get infected with the virus (epstein barr), there is not even a large chance that you will be symptomatic and there is even less of a chance that it will be severe.
Don't worry, as I stated there is such a large population that has been infected by it that it is basically a fact of life. |
