Nope. I'm a healthy adult. If I get it, I'll get over it. It can't be any worse than the flu that I had a couple of months ago. |

I have the same worries about it, as any other illness. I am not freaking out, thinking I am dying from it. As long as people that are feeling unwell stay home, then it should be fine. As well as washing your hands for at least 20 seconds through out the day. |

I drive like a maniac, smoke, drink, eat too much and don't do any sport, and I'm supposed to be worried about something I can't do anything about like swine flu? |

No, sensationalism attracts viewers and sells newspapers. There has only been one fatal case outside Mexico, and this was a young boy from Mexico who was living in Houston Texas. There may well be many cases of swine flu diagnosed in the UK, but we are better prepared to deal with the implications of this, and I doubt it will be any worse than the conventional flu. |

I'm just a little paranoid. But I'm not worried. If you get it, you aren't going to die. So if you feel sick, get the hospital and get it treated and ta da! If you feel sick and don't do anything about it, you're dead. |

NO, I am not scare about the swine flu H1N1, but I keep inform.
Here are some questions and answers about the illness:
Q. What is swine flu?
A. Swine flu is a respiratory illness in pigs caused by a virus. The swine flu virus routinely causes outbreaks in pigs but doesn't usually kill many of them.
Q. Can people get swine flu?
A. Swine flu viruses don't usually infect humans. There have been occasional cases, usually among people who've had direct contact with infected pigs, such as farm workers. "We've seen swine influenza in humans over the past several years, and in most cases, it's come from direct pig contact. This seems to be different," said Dr. Arnold Monto, a flu expert with the University of Michigan.
Q. Can it spread among humans?
A. There have been cases of the virus spreading from human to human, probably in the same way as seasonal flu, through coughing and sneezing by infected people.
Q. What are the symptoms of swine flu?
A. The symptoms are similar to those of regular flu — fever, cough, fatigue, lack of appetite.
Q. Is the same swine flu virus making people sick in Mexico and the U.S.?
A. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the Mexican virus samples match the U.S. virus. The virus is a mix of human virus, bird virus from North America and pig viruses from North America, Europe and Asia.
Q. Are there drugs to treat swine flu in humans?
A. There are four different drugs approved in the U.S. to treat the flu, but the new virus has shown resistance to the two oldest. The CDC recommends the use of the flu drugs Tamiflu and Relenza.
Q. Does a regular flu shot protect against swine flu?
A. The seasonal flu vaccine used in the U.S. this year won't likely provide protection against the latest swine flu virus. There is a swine flu vaccine for pigs but not for humans.
Q. Should residents of California or Texas do anything special?
A. The CDC recommends routine precautions to prevent the spread of infectious diseases: wash your hands often, cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze, avoid close contact with sick people. If you are sick, stay at home and limit contact with others.
Q. What about traveling to Mexico?
A. The CDC has not warned Americans against traveling to Mexico but advises that they be aware of the illnesses there and take precautions to protect against infections, like washing their hands.

In a word where I come from (thats in Sheffield), NOWT in other words NO!
We are the "BEST" prepared country than any other, whoever stated otherwise is indenial.
There are 13-15 confirmed (means actual) cases in the UK this week and 642 suspected (means guessing) cases overall. Now do I see the WORLD COMING TO AN END? - NO!
Yes this so called "new" virus is spreading very quickly in America and undoubtedly in Mexico. Now 12 are now confirmed dead in Mexico and 1 23 month year old innocent Mexican child died in America.
See where I'm getting at?
DON'T PANIC THE WORLD IS DEFINATELY NOT COMING TO AN END! |

Yes i am worried. I remember years ago taking a college human disease class. And the professor was explaining how flus get names (H1N1 is now the name for swine flu). And I remember that the professor wrote on the board H1N1 and he said he would be scared to see that. This was back in 2004.
I went to Wikipedia online and the most deadly flu was in 1918 to 1919. It was called the Spanish flu (only because spain was the only country reporting it in their media). Its official name was H1N1! The same name given to the swine flu right now.
The spanish flu killed millions around the world! Wikipedia gave an explaination like this so you can understand:
AIDs has killed about 25 million in 25 YEARS
Spanish flu killed about 25 million in only 25 WEEKS!
This new H1N1 could be as bad as the spanish flu. It killed some where up to 100 million people world wide!
And the weird thing is that most flus only kill small numbers of people. Commonly elderly and young kids because their immune systems are weaker.
HOWEVER the spanish flu (just like the new swine flu) seems to be able to kill off most of the people UNDER the age of 65. Ages 20-40. Which says that this is a serious, deadly flu.
There is NO vaccine for humans against the swine flu. We are all at risk.
The only way to prevent getting the flu is to stay away from people coughing and sneezing. And to wash your hands frequently. |

Might as well be scared of crossing the road or eating food someone else has prepared. |
