Take an antihistamine and apply ammonia to the spot for temporary pain relief. |

If you are allergic, go to the hospital. If not, some snuff works like a charm every time! |

Scrape the stinger out with a credit card first, and then you can make a paste out of baking soda and water, and apply it over the sting. it will make it feel a lot better! |

If you are having trouble breathing, call for help NOW!!
-- Do not read the rest of this, just get to the phone and call 911 or the fire department and tell them you got stung and are having trouble breathing.
If you're breathing OK, then...
Is the stinger out?
If not, don't use tweezers -- that squeezes more venom into you. Use a needle or the end of a paperclip to slide it back out.
Wash it good with soap and water, or pour some alcohol on it.
If there are cigarettes around, take some of the tobacco, mix it with water and spread it around the sting.
-or-
Make a paste of Baking Soda and water and spread it on the spot.
-or-
Take some ice, wrap it in a damp cloth and lay it on the spot.
It feels hot because your body is fighting the venom. Take an asprin, tylenol, motrin, etc. (unless you're allergic to them,of course) |

First, try to see if there's still a stinger left in your skin. If there is, get a pair of tweezers and take it out. Then, if you have some baking soda, mix a little with some water and put the resulting white paste over the stung area, apparently that helps. In my experience, it usually takes a few days for the swelling from a sting to go back down, so in the meantime be prepared to sit around doing relatively little and waiting for it to go away. |
