Dietary guidelines suggest no more than two or three pieces of fruit per day. Even though fruit is a healthy food, eating lots of it can displace other equally important food groups from your diet, thus making it unbalanced. Oranges are perfectly fine to enjoy everyday and contain lots of vitamin C to ward off colds and flu infections. |

yeah! a little whild ago i found out that large doses of vitamin C may cause indigestion, particularly when taken on an empty stomach. also, when taken in large doses, vitamin C causes diarrhea. |

Depends on the definition of 'a lot'.
One per day? Probably okay.
10 per day? Not so much. |

I don't see how, It would be smart to mix in other fruits into your diet too becuase when you tend to eat one food its not really BAD for you but your body get used to eat so it stops taking in as many nutriets from that food as possible. But like i've never heard of it beening bad for you or anything. |

Hi Sweetie,
Not at all! I can eat 4-5 tangerines for a snack, it's a good source of Vitamen C if u don't take any supplements. Eat as many as u like, I do. Try the Tangerines, small but no seeds. lol & Bona' Petite! Not Carrotts though, r skin will turn orange!
It's a fact & sign of Anorexia.
LOL, Diana D |

no its not
The more slowly you eat; the easier it is to recognize your body's satiety signals. And what snack takes longer than peeling and sectioning an orange? Oranges have only 48 calories. (200 ml of orange juice, with all the fiber gone, has about 115).Oranges are a great source of vitamin C, calcium and folate. Oranges are also a great source of fiber and antioxidants, and antioxidants are good for your skin. No your skin will NOT turn orange, and you will not get constepated, but over 13 oranges a day could cause diarrhea, and some rashing inside the stomach, causeing irritation, and vomiting. |

nope. unless thats the only thing you've been eating for a few days. just enjoy the vitamin c. :) |

It depends on if you are allergic to oranges or how many you eat....if you feel good and don't have any problems with eating a lot of oranges then it is not bad for you....might be bad for someone else...everyone is different ..... |

No, it's not bad but oranges contain a lot of potassium and vitamin C and you might end up with a little diarrhea because
your body will have to excrete the excess. |

too much of some things can be toxic, but i think that you would be very very full and stop on your own before getting to that point. umm what is it that they substitute chrissy??? i'm thinking...I don't quite remember, but sometimes in supplements and in processed foods, certain ingredients are substituted and give you vitamins in a different form so that you don't get too much of a vitamin in its pure form. I believe it's vitamins A & E that can be toxic. I think vitamin C is not that big of a deal if you over do it a bit.
I would try to keep it at 3 the most. I know they can be addictive lol but it's worth it to not overindulge. |

hi!

well, its all about balance, so if you eat alot of oranges, you need more of those other good stuff for you... remember the food pyramid! |

The only thing I can think of that might be a negative side-effect is that oranges have a lot of citric acid. If you eat several at a time and at frequent intervals....you might experience "heartburn" or an upset stomach.
But, no, there's nothing in an orange that would be "bad" for you. In fact, I think we'd ALL do better if we ate more of them!
I hope that assists!
