am going to have my quincenera in november and i weigh 215 i want to weigh 160. i really want to look nice i want to become a healthier person. any tips on loosing weight i want to do it the safe way no pills. i want to do it by eating right and exercising

yes you can as a matter of fact! try taking protein supplements to when you work out. or the fastest way is to take NIACIN (a crystalline acid, C6H5NO2, that is a component of the vitamin-B complex, found in fresh meat, yeast, etc., produced by the oxidation of nicotine, and used in the prevention and treatment of pellagra.) this is a FAT BURNER! and will accelerate your weight loss! it will also help ya pass a drug test! lol

anything is possible if you just believe in yourself!

LOL I SOUNDED [email protected]! But yeah its possible just work out every day

Fat ≠ Curvy.
healthily no
unhealthy yes

you can lose ~2lbs of weight per week the healthy way

you can also lose close to 7-10 lbs a week unhealthy

the unhealthy way would be, 4x day salad/yogurt/fat free milk vitamin pills, exercise, and fat burning pills

the healthy way

4-6 meals a day 1000 calories less that you require, ultra low fat low sugar...diet with exercise/diet and vitamin pills

~2 lbs - a week

if you want to exercise right, cardio + weight training (doesn't hae to be heavy)

foods: balanced diet, complex carbs, sugars ONLY from fruit (other than grapes), none to very little fat (trans and saturated) fat from chicken breast/turkey breast, that's fine

Yes! I lost 20 lbs in 2 months by changing my eating habits and not drinking anymore soda's. The carbonation blows you up! Doesn't matter if it says Diet Soda it is still soda! Drink lots of water, eat lots of veggies, and fruits. Limit the amount of foods that contain a lot of carbs such as Breads, Tortillas, potatoes and noodles.
Do not eat Fried Foods! Fried food is really bad for you! Eat baked, broiled or barbequed meats. Chicken and Fish is the best meats for you to eat or extremely lean meats. If you want a snack try freezing whipped yogurt it tastes pretty good...or anything that is sugar free. Stay away from sugar, substitute it with a no calorie sweetener....And most of all make sure to excersize atleast 30 mins a day. Jogging is a good way to lose weight, also you can jump rope. Go dancing...that makes me sweat a lot! Good luck! It takes will power! If you have a weight goal to accomplish by November I think you can do it if you really try! I'm not through yet either I would like to lose atleast 30 more pounds by December.

Eat right
and exercise
doesn't require much thinking

First of all it is good to set goals, but that is an awfully big goal and you may get discouraged if you miss it. Just try to go for something a little less and if you go over that you will feel accomplished.

You will want to just eat healthy, avoid fast food as often as you possibly can, drink more water and juice than you would soda.

And jogging or some kind of aerobic exercise is what you really want to be doing. Don't over do it at first but you will get good results from this.

Of course you can. The difficult part is maintaining the necessary focus and diligence that it will require. It will be easy to give up and quit whichever diet and exercise plan you choose. The problem that most people run into is they think of being healthy as a diet... but what you are looking for is a lifestyle change. A good diet that a person can easily stick to is to stay within a 1000 calorie diet during the week and reward yourself by eating whatever you want on Saturday and Sunday (up to 2000-2500 cal) and make sure you eat breakfast everyday of the week. Eating a good breakfast (cherieos with bananas) helps you burn more fat throughout the day. A good way of exercise doesn't necessarily have to be hitting the gym everyday, but you could take the stairs instead of elevators and walk places instead of drive. But most of all you gotta believe in yourself.

Good luck

Bob J
i suppose it is possible. but you already have the answer in your question "do it by eating right and exercising"... just dont resort to certaint diets that tell you to only eat 1 food group, you still need variety.
it will be really hard but yes it's possible
best of luck!

You could if you really go on a very serious diet and also go down the Gym daily, 55lb is nearly 4st so that's quiet a lot. Again depending if your male or female, males loose weight quicker which is no great happy news for females. All the same you could loose almost that much by really following a serious diet and doing at least 20 minutes twice a day doing exercises. During the day when standing around waiting for something, say like the kettle to boil, do twists with your body, or bend down and touch your toes, all these little things help to get the body going.

The best trick though is to drink a glass of water straight down in one go just before you tuck into your (diet meal), it will make you feel full very quick. And its not a bad habit to do even when your not dieting because it really makes you feel you've eaten enough half way through your meal.

Good Luck, if your serious you can do it, be strong and I wish you the best of luck.

run 3-4 miles a day and u will

I'm not sure about 55, but I know you can lose around 35 pounds with lots of dedication. If you want to look nice though, I think you should concentrate more on toning your body than losing weight, there's a slight difference since muscles can make you heavier than you look.

As for tips, no processed sugars. If you want something sweet, eat fruits like apples, blueberries, and stuff in the orange family. No bananas or pineapples or any canned stuff though.

♥ †britt† ♥
yeah ride bikes all the time and then eat smaller portians and no sweets

Well, if you do the math, with an on average of half a pound a day, you'd be losing about 55 pounds in 4 months. Now, remember, that's if you lose half a pound a day. That's very possible if you diet correctly.

Best Diet Tip No. 1: Drink plenty of water or other calorie-free beverages.
People sometimes confuse thirst with hunger. So you can end up eating extra calories when an ice-cold glass of water is really what you need.

Best Diet Tip No. 2: Think about what you can add to your diet, not what you should take away.
Start by focusing on getting the recommended 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.

Best Diet Tip No. 3: Consider whether you're really hungry.
Whenever you feel like eating, look for physical signs of hunger, suggests Michelle May, MD, author of Am I Hungry?

Best Diet Tip No. 4: Be choosy about nighttime snacks.
Mindless eating occurs most frequently after dinner, when you finally sit down and relax.

Best Diet Tip No. 5: Enjoy your favorite foods.
"I think putting your favorite foods off limits leads to weight gain because it triggers 'rebound' overeating," says Sass.

Best Diet Tip No. 6: Enjoy your treats away from home.
When you need a treat, Ellie Krieger, RD, host of Food Network's Healthy Appetite, suggests taking a walk to your local ice cream parlor or planning a family outing

Those are just a few tips that can help you.

You don't need a diet, you need a lifestyle change. I lost 45 pounds in three months last year by eating right and moving more. I didn't have any formal exercise because my job kept me busy most days (6-9 hours walkin' around among other things), but I just made sure I ate less and moved more. I ate the majority of my calories early in the day... Huge breakfast, snack, big lunch, small dinner, small snack. I was always told to eat like a king in the morning, a queen in the afternoon and a peasant in the evening, so I put it into action and lost weight so fast most of my friends thought I wasn't eating, but I was, and I was eating very well. Cut out sodas and junk foods and you can still eat pretty much whatever you want and still lose weight. Mind over matter and everything in moderation.

Here is a site that helps it shows you how many calories you would eat per day to lose 10 lbs in 30 to 45 days. You should be able to lose a decent amount just remember the more you exercise and eat healthy the faster it will be. Drink tons of water at least 6-8 glasses a day and snack a lot on healthy things like fruit and low fat nuts like almonds. You will crave food less and eat better through out the day. I have problems when I'm starving and crave junk so just don't let yourself get too hungry. Also eat everything slow takes time for your body to feel full so if you eat slow you will notice better that you are full. Check out these site makes the math part easier.

Emerald is right...

Weigh yourself, set a goal and target.
Get a calorie/weight calculator and start caloric logging, only eating as many calories as you're supposed to.
Stick to fruits/vegetables, whole grains, drink milk for protein and supplement as well (workout too) and small portions of fish/poultry. Lots of water too.

At fifteen it should be possible, but not easy. The key is to keep eating. Your body will not allow you to lose the weight if you are starving yourself. I lost about forty pounds in three months trying to eat only 1500 calories a day. No tricks, no massive increase in exercise, I just ate less and what I ate was really good for me. I would have a breakfast of something like an egg or two...hard boiled, toast, and an orange. I would eat a Lean Cuisine or something like it, for lunch with either raw vegetables, brocolli, cauliflower, carrots, spinach, or fruit. I would have an afternoon snack of more fruits or vegetables, and then I would eat a regular, but smaller portion dinner.

For exercise, I tried to walk for at least an hour everyday, but I counted all the walking I did during the day. I also did some ab work, and a little lifting just to tone my body up as I lost the weight.

The biggest hint that I would give is to look at it as a lifestyle change, not a diet.

Sure you can.

You can lose 55 pounds in 4 months.
Tips on losing weight:
*eat right
*drink water
*check out http://www.mypyramid.gov

eat less and do more. or eat the same and do alot more. Running and swimming are the best ways. Play basketball or street hockey. or take a bunch of kids to the park and involve yourself in their play for a few hours a day.

I'm doing that! and yes it's possible to lose 55 pounds in 4months.
I cut out all fast food (ie. macdonalds) from my diet. I occasionally go out with the fam. to eat at restaurants. Eat lots of fruits. Protein. Just eat healthy. And exercise on a regular basis. Like walk to places if you can, take the stairs whenever you can. Jump rope, run, hula hoop , stuff like that =p Im seventeen magazine in their health section they have amazing food ideas , and they show you different excersises you can do. If yu don't want to buy the magazine then go to their website : seventeen.com
Just eat healthy and be healthy.

That is a LOT of weight to lose in such a short time. I understand you want to do this without pills, but I would urge you to see a doctor first. If you are only 14 and that much over weight, there could be factors that would hinder normal weightloss. Certainly a strict diet and lots of exercise will get you to lose weight, but the recommended is about 2-4 pounds a week. That comes to about 12-16 pounds a month. So it might be possible, but you would need to commit to a very strict diet and a very hard regime of exercise, both of which should be done under a doctor's direction to make sure you are still getting enough nutrients, especially since you are still growing.

you can do anything if you put ur mind too it GL

Maybe, if you exercise right, and eat right.

Marisol xoxo

If you lose 55 pounds in 4 months your going to have massive stretch marks. Keep it 1 to 2 pounds a week to stay healthy and keep that weight off.

Jodie Rhiannon
Then do what it says in your question.

Eat right and exercise.

Ok, let's say that's 18 weeks... It's healthy to lose weight at a rate of 2 pounds per week after the first 3 weeks. You might lose 3-4 pound per week the first three weeks. So, that's around 10 pounds the first 3 weeks and then around 30lbs for the next 15 weeks. So, I think you can safely expect to lose 40 pounds in that time frame. You're going to look great losing 40 pounds. Don't get hung up on it having to be 55lbs.

Weight watchers is a really healthy way to lose weight. You can go to meetings or you can do it online.
