wisdom teeth?
i think my wisdom teeth are just starting to come through. they don't hurt do you think i should be concerned that something is wrong?

Manndy C
No, but check with your dentist. The reason why wisdom teeth bother's people is that their jaw is too small and can't accomodate another set of 4 teeth in the jaw without causing some discomfort or pain and in the worst case shifting (but wisdom teeth dont usually cause shifting)

My wisdom teeth didn't bother me at all until one year, then I have to take them out. Check your dentist he/she will make a judge to see if you need to take them out.

If you do. My greatest advise get them ALL out in the first go. You don't want to go twice. Pain and swelling longer...

My wisdom teeth took a couple of years to come in completely. So, it's not an urgent issue. Most dentists recommend getting them pulled....just in case. Sometimes, your wisdom teeth can put pressure on your other teeth, resulting is "crowding" or crooked teeth....and they are also more prone to cavities because they are harder to clean. If they look like they're coming in straight and you keep them clean, you shouldn't have a problem. Otherwise, I would go to a dentist and get an xray to make sure.

Everything is normal.

The only concern you may have is if your teeth are already crowded in your mouth, you may consider having the wisdom teeth removed.

When I was young, I had perfectly straight teeth. After my wisdom teeth came in, they caused my other teeth to turn a little because my mouth was crowded.

If you have plenty of room, you'll be fine. If you have crowded teeth, you may want to consider having them removed.

By the way, wisdom teeth perform NO valuable function as far as chewing or anything else.

john f
nothing to really be concerned about. If you mouth has enough room for them then you will be fine. If your mouth is crowded then you may have to get them pulled. Go to your dentist for x rays.....he/she will let you know for sure. DONT WORRY!!!

You should have a dentist look at them. Some people dont have any problems when their wisdom teeth come in, but most people have them extracted if the rest of your teeth are healthy.

My personal experience is when my wisdom teeth came in I neglected to have them removed and they forced my molars forward crushing several teeth in the process.

no not if theve just started to come thourgh

MLE
If they aren't hurting you don't need to worry very much, BUT you should go to the dentist and make sure that you have enough room for them. If you don't have enough room they will push the rest of your teeth out of position. They may need to be taken out but not necessarily.

Maryn
Not everyone's wisdom teeth cause problems. If yours don't, we're all jealous.

You might want to get checked by a dentist just to be sure...you don't want it to get the point where it does hurt and is breaking your other teeth...where I am at right now! :(
