when i say the word cancer.......?
how does it make you feel inside
Truthfully

Quite scared, worried and sad.
I don't want to meet the person with cancer.
I just couldn't face him/her.

Melissa
sad.....it reminds me of death =(

robert
it makes me feel sad and scared as quite a lot of my ancestors have died of cancer. my auntie, grandma and grandad died of cancer within a space of three weeks. This was a few years ago so i am over it now. My other Grandma died of Bowel, throat and lung cancer last year. So the word 'cancer' is a pretty unsecure word in my mind.

it makes me feel angry, sad, and strong.
(angry because it kills people, people i know, and it's killing me, sad for the same reasons, strong because im still fighting)

Erm....well it makes me feel sorry for all of the cancer affected people + it's my star sign.

Poppy
I get a feeling in the pit of my stomach, first i think of best friend who died of cancer and then a second later i realize that i am have cancer too, why do you want to know is it for a project?

lindsay480799
It's my star sign but it also reminds me of all the people in my life who are effected by cancer and makes me feel sorry for those who have ever had cancer or lost someone to it. Cancer is terrible.

It brings to mind Miss Sam, (ians mommy), and her battle with brain cancer. Mine crosses my mind, but it really doesn't affect my feelings. It is what it is and it's just a crossroad in my life.

Sad, I lost my Dad a year and a half ago to secondary cancer. Four weeks the initial diagnosis that it was back is all we had with him, and the last few days were heartbreaking.

Horrible, revolted, sad.

Cancer is getting better recently though. Think of all the people who DO survive as opposed to 100 years ago.

It makes me think of my Mom as she has cancer ( she should be ok )

Kelley
It used to strike terror in my heart.

After being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia 6 years ago, surviving it, and greatly improving the quality of my life and that of my family as a result of that cancer wake up call, it's not so scary anymore.

There are times when I'm thankful that cancer made me put my priorities straight. And being bald sure cut down on the time it took to get ready in the morning :)

Scared and Sad. I hate when anyone even says the word cancer. Eekkkk, its just a said and scary thing :(

∂ αиιєℓℓє χ
Sad, scared and angry.

Peter M
Angry. Very, very angry. I am especially so when I see a child with a bald head, or watch a young man/woman waste away from this monster. Whatever it takes, we must do it to kill the beast. There are other diseases which are terrible and strike the same demographic, but this one is personal for me.

P.S. Hearing my DOCTOR say the word was, in a word, devastating.

BB
Sad and anxious,,my dad has terminal cancer and it scares me..

Dolly Blue
I am in my 60's and to be honest I don't find the word nearly so frightening now as I did 40 years ago. Treatment is so much better and although people still die from cancer lots more do survive it now.!!!
