You can avoid...
-stick on nails
-eating out of styrofome
-eating burnt marshmellows
-tanning to long
-putting up plastic curtans
-dyeing your hair to much
and way more that i cant remember right now
you can look it up...

well, since nobody is quite sure how we get cancer, I would say there isn't a way to prevent it. Just, stay away from power lines and radio active vats of waste.

Nothing! You can be the healthiest person in the world but you might still get it! Everyone says to stay healthy, eat right, and other good stuff. but that is not true. It lowers the chances but you can't prevent it!!!

Most believe it is genetic...so if you are carrying a dominant gene then there is not much. But other such as lung, it obvious Don't smoke.

avoid toxic chemicals. live out in the country away from chemical lawns, and car exhaust. stay away from plastics, soft-drinks, non-organic foods, and even some organic foods, cigarettes obviously. cancer is usually caused by man made stuff, so if you really would rather die of something other than cancer, you pretty much have to isolate yourself from society.

Here's a good article I found about preventing cancer.

Basically just type in "how to avoid cancer" on google and you'll find TONS of information.

Excercise and eat healthy. It would help to talk to an oncologist or look up foods that contain antioxidants.

eat healthy stay healthy do some exercise and u got nothing to worry about=)

I guess just an active life style. Eat healthy with lots of friuts and vegetables, do alot of excersize and the most important is to be happy. I doesn't mattet how healthy you are, you can still get it, happiness is a really good thing, and doing all of the above helps prevent it a little more, plus regular doctor checkups. No stress and less worried is great too. Good luck.

Asparagus and Cancer

Lucinda Ball (UK 2005) writes:

"Asparagus is one of nature's most perfect foods. Asparagus are poor in calories and loaded with vitamins and minerals. Asparagus also contains the phyto-chemical glutathione, which has antioxidant and anticarcinogenic properties.

According to the National Cancer Institute, asparagus is the highest tested food containing glutathione, one of the body's most potent cancer fighters. Additionally, asparagus is high in rutin, which is valuable in strengthening the blood vessels. Avocado and walnuts are also particularly rich in dietary sources of glutathione.

Glutathione is a small protein composed of three amino acids; cysteine, glutamic acid, and glycine. Glutathione is involved in detoxification. It binds to fat-soluble toxins, such as heavy metals, solvents, and pesticides, and transforms them into a water-soluble form that can be excreted in urine."

I love Asparagus and have several recipes and it's only $.88 cents a bunch. I like to cook it in a skillet in a small amount of water and olive oil, pour off the water and oil and then sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. I never used it for cancer we just like it and has been well known that it contains phyto-chemical glutathione which is an antioxidant and anticarcinogenic. All the green or highly colored vegetables and fruits are good for you.

I like spinach too and make spinach lasagna and spinach filled manicotti. I use Ronzoni Smart Taste. Ronzoni Smart Taste is the first white pasta to be enriched with fiber and calcium-and lots of it. Three times the fiber and calcium equal to an eight-ounce glass of milk. Studies show that many diets are lacking in these two important nutrients.

Place the cooked asparagus in a blender and liquefy to make a puree, and store in the refrigerator. Give the patient 4 full tablespoons twice daily, morning and evening.

Patients usually show some improvement in from 2-4 weeks. It can be diluted with water and used as a cold or hot drink. This suggested dosage is based on present experience, but certainly larger amounts can do no harm and may be needed in some cases.

As a biochemist I am convinced of the old saying that `what cures can prevent'. Based on this theory, my wife and I have been using asparagus puree as a beverage with our meals.

We take 2 tablespoons diluted in water to suit our taste with breakfast and with dinner. I take mine hot and my wife prefers hers cold. For years we have made it a practice to have blood surveys taken as part of our regular checkups.

The last blood survey, taken by a medical doctor who specializes in the nutritional approach to health, showed substantial improvements in all categories over the last one, and we can attribute these improvements to nothing but the asparagus drink...

There really isn't a whole lot you can do to avoid cancer. It is mostly a genetics thing.

There is a gene, commonly referred to as p53, which regulates growth of cells in your body. Cancer is when your cells being to grow rapidly out of control and your body can do nothing to stop it. Tumors are massive lumps of these cells that grow in certain parts of your body.

You could avoid extra radiation as that helps, but realistically, it's not common to come by, outside of medically tests.

good question. I know quite a few people who has cancer right now, and some of them never smoked or drank. Just live life the best that you can. Some people don't have a choice of how they eat because they are poor.

Do not smoke cigarettes.

eat healthy, stay healthy, work out, and get out into the sun more (but wear sun tan lotion =D or sun screen =})... live life happily =D

answer mine anyone?

A few ideas:

Don't get sunburns - they increase the possibility of getting skin cancer.

Keep your weight down - excess body fat is a risk factor for some cancers.

Get the HPV vaccine to prevent cervical cancer.

Unfortunately, many cancers are not preventable (based on current knowledge). But early detection can help you beat cancer if you do get it. So get you regular pap smears, breast exams, and other recommended cancer screenings, especially if you have a family history of a particular type of cancer.

In today's society, you can get cancer from anything - Cell phones, microwaves, plastic cups, the sun, monitors, your mother in-law...many many things.

Most of the time, you can't really avoid cancer, but you can help fight it by getting your daily needed vitamins and minerals to help the body function at it's best. If the body has everything it needs to function correctly every single day, you've already won half the battle.
