Is this cancer?
I have this bump on my right lower abdomen. I think its a lymph node. It is very mobile. Its been there for like 3 or 4 years. It never grew. Its not painful at all and never has been. It isnt visible at all. Its 1 cm in size. The weird thing is...it isnt completely rock hard but its somewhat close. Im getting blood taken probably for an elbow surgery I will be getting done. I have one on my left side in the same exact spot and its the same everything, always has. On both sides, its laying on a think muscle and a little layer of skin on top and im pretty thin (6' 3" 190 lbs.). Im 15 YO. Is this anything to worry about? Everybody says im freaking out over nothing.

Come over tomorrow and we'll do Spishak's Home Cancer Screening together. It's just as reliable and accurate as the expensive ones those silly doctors use. You have a high tolerance for pain and bloodletting, I hope.

lol, 6'3" and 190 is not thin...goto your doc and have it checked!

Shuddertoes
If it were cancer and you've had it for 4 years already, you would be very sick or dead by now. Could just be a cyst or something. Ask your doc the next time you go.

KatPan
i have one in my neck its fine...if it stops moving then be worried

go to a doctor and let them check it out. it could be a benign tumor...

Lovetosponge
its not cancer.... and you are freaking out over nothing.... but you should go to ur Doct. just to clear it up.

In stead of freaking out over it, have it checked out. You are already going to have a procedure done...show it to the Dr.

Momo

Consult an oncologist, He knows better. An oncologist is a cancer specialist. Drink green tea 3 x a day. Thet say it is an anti oxidant.

hot_txlatina
it could be fluid buildup but definetly have it checked out by a doctor

??
wat a weird thing...... it doesn't sound like cancer though.

Ok, the best thing to do is ask your doctor. I mean, I'm not a doctor nor have I seen this lump you are talking about so I can't say much about it. Don't get to worried but make sure you ask your doctor. You can never be too sure about these things.

So yeah, ask your doctor about it and he/she will tell you exactly what it is.

and good luck on your elbow surgery.

butterfliesRfree
I've had breast cancer --- it did not hurt at all.
BUT then again, most lumps are usually not cancerous.....just get it checked out. The fact that it hasn't changed much is a good sign.

It doesn't sound like Cancer and the fact that you can move it around is a good sign, its probably just a cyst (is that how you spell it?) Its most likely non-harmful and considering it doesn't grow almost rules out the probability that it is cancer.
Your 15, your risk for getting cancer is minimal and especially on your abs.
Your family is right, relax
I understand your worry, b/c in 2days world when we find a lump, we think of the big C, but in most cases, this is not the case.
Your doctor, if you show it to him/her, can tell you what it is instantly usually and if not, they will send u for a biopsy, which is they stick a needle in it and take a sample of the tissue underneath, hurts a little, but there are more painful things in life.
In my opinion, its not supposed to be there, doesn't mean its harmful, but get it checked out by a physician, better safe than sorry, right?
Good luck, breath in and out, and most of all, RELAX, if you do not relax, stress will hurt you more than the bump which is probably nothing.

u know dont be dumb just go to the doctor!!

It could be any number of benign (not scary) things, including a lymph node, thickened tissue, w/e. Since you are going in for elbow surgery, please schedule an appointment with your regular doctor for a physical exam ~ that's normally part of the process prior to surgery. Everybody has some funky "bump" here and there but it's best to have it checked out anyway. Tell "everybody" that there's a difference between freaking out and being consious of what's going on with your body!

If it was cancer you would have known. Sounds like like a innocent cyst, called a gangalion. Easily taken care of I had one on my foot had it drained and it never came back.

The Seeker
You need to ask a doctor not yahoo.

see a doctor asap

Theres no way to really tell, especially if you're asking a bunch of people on the internet. My suggestion is that you go to a doctor.

dude, dont ask us ! go to your doctor !

mel
if it was cancer it would have grew over the years quite rapidly so I think you are pretty safe there.
Put your mind at rest and check it with a doctor the worry of it could make you stressed and ill in itself and you will feel better when he says it is fine.
