What you are experiencing is natural, and friends will understand. Just tell them.

And look up www.after-cancer.com for some lovely positive things to do that help get over problems, particularly side effects from drugs.

Change that is not needed.
Well, when I was diagnosed with cancer, some of my friends at the hospital where I work started avoiding me.
It was not like I talked too much about the cancer, I dodged the cancer subject like crazy.
People change sometimes daily, now after two mastectomy later, 4 other surgery later, we get along like before.
Know that....friends...are not there for you always, it will be your family that is there.

Good luck sweetie... What your going through is tough and you may have a long road ahead... But with today's medical advancement I have faith and confidence you will conquer this battle. And about your friends that is the least of your worries. If they're true fiends then they will understand your situation if you explained it to them. If the case is that they don't pick up you phone calls, just leave them a message or write them an email explaining to them what you're going through. I wish you nothing but the best and will pray for you that everything works out for the best.

anyone who cares about you will understand and they wont think less of you for being scared and confused in this situation.trust your family and friends they will be there for you.I am very sorry and i wish you luck.

Are You Ben
omgosh im sooooo sorry!

u can tell them ur sorry to start off!
then tell them y u pushed them away but that u didnt mean it u were just caught up in the moment!

i want to cry 4 u....i know that sounds gay or stupid cuz i dont know u..but yea.

i hope u get SO much better!
hope i helped a whole lot!

I am so sorry that you face this challenge. The most important thing right now is that you take the time for yourself and have the patience with yourself to figure out the best ways you can cope.

I understand that it seems everyone is pushing at you -- wanting to know how you are and how they can help and etc, etc, etc., and you probably don't have the energy (emotional or physical) to deal with it. That's okay. You're allowed to be completely "selfish" right now and worry about your needs and your feelings. The people who love you can't be pushed away completely. They'll be there waiting when you're ready.

If you need help, there are support groups of people in the same situation you are who can listen. You can most likely find one through your treatment facility.

Be gentle with yourself, give yourself time.

God bless and good luck!

they will have good idea what you are going through if they don't and hold it against you they are not true friends this is the worst time of your life and everyone reacts differently i know as my husband was diagnosed i year ago talking to close friends you will be feeling angry confused frightened and why me we went through all this my way of coming to term with it was week away and we talked to each other this helped me and him he has terminal cancer and after brain surgery and treatment he has improved and is Still here after year first given 6-9months to live we take one day at time now its the only way we also have hospice nurse in who is great help hope you manage to make up with your friends as you need good friends at a time like this take care and good luck

Do not worry. Things will be okay. Get in contact with them. Tell them the situation. They'll be there for you. You are in my deepest prayers, and you will overcome this!

Besides getting treatment for it, I would see what your hospitals have to offer in the way of support groups for people that have been in your position or have survived it, or people that know someone dealing with it. My mother had breast cancer and it was really tough having to deal with it, but I had to get people around me that were knowledgeable about it and could help me cope with being a care giver and the stress of going through it with her.

Don't give up your friends and family, you need them around you and their support too.

Firstly, the people you pushed away will understand that you are stressed out and confused due to this. Just give them a call and invite them round for a cuppa, they won't expect an apology I'm sure. Talk to your closest about how you are feeling, this may help both you and them as many people don't know what to say in situations like this. You have never messed up too badly they will understand honestly.

As for dealing with it, you need to get your head around whats going to happen, what your odds of success are and how the treatment is going to affect you life. I think that once you are armed with all these facts you can begin to gt completely prepared for everything and that should help you cope. Also try www.MarieCurie.org.uk to speak to other people about what you are going through as they will understand and maybe offering support to other will help you as well.

I wish you all the best of luck in the battle you have ahead of you. Try to stay positive and not let it get you down too much.

You must access the situation and just know you'll get through it. Good luck, get well soon!

I went through this a few years ago. I found out I had cancer and was afraid to tell family and friends because I didn't want them sad, worried, and all the other things that go with it. Having cancer these days is not the death sentence it once was so remain optimistic take care of yourself, and do the best you can every day. What will happen will happen with or without your worrying so you can only do what you can do. I know it sounds stupid but I just put it in God's hand and accepted whatever the future held for me and it all worked out in a short time and today I'm cancer free. Good luck and stay upbeat, don't let it ruin a single day for you.
