Does anybody know a person who has cancer or died of cancer?
My mother was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer two years ago. She died on February 11,2009. I know she is not suffering anymore and is resting in peace but I miss her so much. She was only 49 years old. It spread to her liver, lungs, pelvis and anus. She was a strong woman. She fought until the end.

My mother died at 57 of heart disease. It takes a long time to get back to feeling "normal" again. Grieving time is different for different people. See if the cancer society has any support groups for survivors who are grieving. If they don't have one, consider starting one yourself if you can. Support groups can be a tremendous help getting through stuff like this.

USA Gymnastics.
I'm so sorry!!
My great-grandma & grandma both have breast cancer.
I know what it's like to feel that lump-in-your-throat sort of sadness, that makes you feel like crying all the time.

Yeah grandmother. Its tough, and gets to me at times. I think the best way to move on is to just think about the positive aspects of life and what you have learned from the loved one who went on to the next life. Stay strong

My parents died of lung cancer, my foster father died from stomach cancer. I've had a long battle with thyroid cancer, and recovered from prostate cancer---so I can certainly relate to your situation. Time helps. Good luck to you.

Yup, my grandma just died a few months ago from colon cancer and my best friends mom passed away from breast cancer about 2 years ago. It's the hardest thing in the world, loosing someone you love. Espeically with cancer because it's so random and unpredictable. I mean, at the end I knew my grandma and friends mom wouldn't make it, but inbetween a lot of times I thought they would. My "little sister" had is too when she was 8. She actually spent her 9th birthday in the ER after getting really sick. But now she's 10, happy, healthy, and you couldn't tell she was ever sick if you looked at her now. I wish I knew why some people survive it and some don't, but at least the fight is over and we will see them again! <3

Yes, I have known many family members and friends who died of many different types of cancer. Lost my father to stomach cancer and my brother this past Feb. died from lung cancer. I can name at least 8 aunts that died of cancer and just as many uncles and cousins. There have been a countless number of friends who have passed on from cancer. You are not alone in your grief of losing loved ones to this terrible disease. How I wish that research would get a solid grip on how to stop it. It would be the biggest discovery of the century if they would find a cure for all types of cancer.

Yes my Uncle died a few years back of colon cancer.

I am sorry for your loss.

My uncle. Such a good man. Had cancer of the colon. He also suffered alot before his
death. It's very tough. God bless you!

both my grandmothers had cancer and grandfathers my sister died at age 44 of ovarian cancer

Yep. My father had colorectal cancer. He found out in April 2000 and they told him he'd live for a long time... he died three months later. It's been ten years and I still miss him terribly.

My father died fron lung cancer within 3 weeks of his diagnosis. He was 68, almost 69. He hid his disease from everyone till he could not handle the symptoms anymore. It is hard, I miss him all the time

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, I'm sure she is in a much better place now. Cancer is a horrible disease and it can really test a family.
My dad has cancer, he was diagnosed around 18 years ago, and he was supposed to die before I was born. Luckily, he survived and I've had him my entire life.
In the past year, however, it has spread to his kidneys and liver and he was forced to start chemo. That was by far the worst few weeks of my life. He missed my hs graduation because of it. That killed me because I knew he wanted to be there.
But he's taking the treatment well so far, and that's all that matters :)
