When I have hiccups I try drinking water.
If there's no water I try holding my breath.
Or jumping.

a famous one is too scare a person: BOO! but you might cure them by scaring them straight to death.

what used to work with me, is brown sugar (or white if you have no brown) dissolved in warm or hot water. drinkup! has never failed me.

omg! these r a few things that i do...

1st: breath really slowly.. i duno but this really does work.

if that doesnt work then...

2nd: drink some lemon juice or lime juice

if that doesnt work then....

3rd: drink some hot sauce

if this doesnt work then

4th: get someone to scare u when i least expect it

and if that doesnt work then:

5th: fill a cup up with water then put a napkin over it. then drink through the napkin.

trust me it works!!

either eat a spoonful of suger( i know i sound like mary poppins, but it works) or a tablespoon of Peanut butter( i prefer more). You can also try hagen daas icecream( not famous but works for me)

Hold your breath for 30-60 seconds
Stand on your head and count to ten
Hold your breath and take ten gulps of water
Get someone to push you hard in the back
Concentrate hard on breathing
Roll around as if one fire
Hold your breath and jump up and down
Take massive gulps of water
Get destracted
Wait them out
Take large, deep breathes and hold them for 10 seconds then release. Repeat five times.

That's all I got.

I've never heard of peanut butter. Cool! A spoonful of sugar always worked for me but I think just the act of swallowing is what does it. Hiccups are caused by an irritation of the phrenic nerve causing the diaphragm to contract and the larynx to close for just a second. So, maybe that's why the strong stuff, onion, lemon, hot sauce, etc. work. I t wakes everything up!

well a famous cure for hiccups is drinking water upsidedown. don't try it. it doesn't work. you just end up with water all over you..

--now if you want something that works, try holding your breath and taking little sips of water until you feel like your drowning. it'll reset your breathing cycle.

to get rid of hiccups you need to relax. thoroughly relax your entire body. ... i tell everyone to take a deep breath and exhale. Breathe normally....concentrate on your hiccups. now...let me know just before your next hiccup happens when you will hiccup next....Concentrate.... and don't ya know they never do hiccup... they are gone like magic!
