try not to eat before you go to bed. do some exercises for at least 15 minutes (take a shower afterwards, ofc), they will get you very tired.
listening to quiet, relaxing music can help, but it can also do the opposite, so try that only if the first two don't help.

oh, imagining some beautiful things and daydreaming helps me fall asleep sometimes. and i usually have nice dreams when i do that :))

id say... think about fantasy things in your mind.... not so much fantasy, but just try not to focus on things relating to your everyday life, ignore any stesses that are going on, and ignore things that you have to do the next day.

try taking a walk or streching before you go to bed. Don't eat after 7. give that a try. rember it will take your body a couple days to get used to a new pattern.

read. Or just watch something that u think is boring.

Read! I always read before I hit the sheets, it makes me so sleepy after a few chapters (and not because my book choices are boring) that I can barely keep my eyes open anymore.

ya find comfortable place ,, put slow music, turn off the lights , drink milk eat yogurt ... try to sleep from 10 pm till 7 am ,,, becouse that time is the best time for the body to relax. if all that didnt work go to the pharamcy and tell him that u want herbal sleep aiding over the counter medicine

First off, why are you not sleeping well? If it's because you have trouble stopping your mind from going in overdrive, here's some tips:

- Repeating the word 'the' in your head over and over again might help if your thoughts are racing. If not, at least you'll make yourself laugh.

- Count backwards from a hundred. You'll probably not reach one.

- Play some relaxing music in the background, for example ambient music. There's enough of it to be found on the internet, for example from Soma FM (http://somafm.com/) or Spheric Lounge (http://www.sphericlounge.de/)

- See if putting some lavender scent in the room helps, for example esotheric oil on your pillow or lavender flowers in the bedroom.

- If worrying and fussing is the problem, take a few minutes right before bed to think about everything you could worry about. After that, don't worry anymore. There's a time for worrying and a time for sleeping.

- Sometimes it helps to have a real 'ritual' for bed. Putting on a pyjama, going to the bathroom, taking any medication, lights off, always in a set order.

- Try to avoid reading in bed, watching t.v. in bed, etc. It's best if you automatically associate your bed with sleeping.

And of course, if you're sensitive to it avoid caffeine (coffee, tea, cola etc) and heavy meals right before bed.

I know very little about meditation, but have found that if I can lay on my back in bed with my palms up and relax to the point of feeling my hands, feet and legs tingle a little and think about my day and try to find a positive thing that happened my mind relaxes as well. Then I write in a journal or find another way to unload the stress. Hey, if you're spiritual, pray a little...hey, it couldn't hurt. Camomile or Cinnamon tea helps a little too. check out a boring book on cd from the library and listen to it. most of the time we cannot sleep because our minds are going. If you can distract your mind with a book or tv then you might can go to sleep.

Melatonin. It is a natural supplement that you can find anywhere, Wal-Mart, Drugstores, Trader Joes.

For better sleep do this exercise everyday. Notice results in a few days.
Anulom Vilom - Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep breaths into the lungs.

Tell yourself to stop thinking about what you are thinking about. Learn to talk to your body into relaxing, start with your feet and feel them , tell them to relax, go to your knees have them relax, go all the way up your body, sounds dumbs but you will stop thinking of stuff and put your mind somewhere else.
