I used to work in a dermatology clinic and the surprising thing about allergies/rashes is they can occur anytime, even from products you have used for extended periods of time before.

The first step would be to stop using the generic Febreze and go back to a product you have not had problems with before, and see if this alleviates the rash.

If the problem persists, or if it is a very bad rash, be sure to see a doctor or preferably, a dermatologist about this.

Yes, it probably is an allergic reaction. Looks like you're going to have to stop using it. I had the same problem when I tried to switch to a cheaper body wash. Broke out in a rash, when I switched back to my old stuff, it went away.

Taking a children's Piriton (anti histamine) tablet will help if it's an allergic reaction. Check with the pharmacist about the dose for your son.

I am a toxicologist and environmental scientist and the best thing you can do is stop using products like the one you use. Think about it you are using a product that contains harsh chemicals. Today the average person is exposed to approximately 500 chemicals a day and we have about 200 different chemicals stored in our body fat.

Your son may be chemically sensitive. There are 3 things you need to do. Start using natural based household products, have your home evaluated for other allergic triggers and monitor the rash. If it spreads visit your physician.

yes of course it can be an allergic reaction, it probably is.
Get medical help. Ignored allergic reactions can lead to anafylactic shock
