I really want to become a vet in the future as I love animals however I do have mild asthma.?
I really really want to become a vet in the future however I do have mild asthma. I am thinking whether to do A-Level Biology as I am very keen on it. My uncle has a parrot and I have no reactions, also I looked after my friends dog for a week as she went on holiday. Please help !! any advice.
Additional Details
I went to the doctors and all she said was that some people have really bad asthma and think it makes them worse and she also said some don't even affect you.

You could do it! Have a good time going for it. Asthma won't keep you away from a dream. You could also specialize in hypoallergenic dogs, (dogs without hair, they have fur that doesnt shed) for example poodles, bichon frises, malteses, ect. You could also specialize in fish, reptiles, and amphibians! If you recover, and think you can do any animal, go ahead! Be a vet!

Mild asthma should be fine =/
as long as you always have an inhalor or something at the ready :)

There are plenty of medications around that will prevent any reactions to animals. If you want to become a vet, go for it!

peace&love
just make sure u have a good medication, and you should be all set.

There are many allergy medicines that address pet dander and different allergies. My mom is asthmatic and has 4 dogs and takes medicine prescribed by her doctor and has no problem. You should talk to your doctor as only he can advise you as he knows your medical history in detail.

No worries, if you only have mild asthma there's nothing to worry about. You may find you react to some animals but not others, but you won't know until you try.
Keep your medication near at all times and just remain aware that there may be a problem occasionally and respond accordingly and you'll be fine.
Good luck

it depends what sot of asthma you have
but normally asthma doesnt make you allergic to animals
if you really want to become a vet then do
i recommend going to the doctor and having it checked out on how serious
it should technically affect you
if it by any chance does
make sure you keep an inhaler on you
