Best cure for the common cold?
It's only october and I'm already on my 3rd cold of the season! I really don't feel like dealing with this, I feel like i've been sick for months. What's the best way to get rid of the common cold...and fast!

Try some regular and healthy eating.

Your immune system is currently weak and it will get better over time.

Hope
Hot blackcurrant squash with honey in it :)
It works really well.

I usually have a hot water bottle, and some hot lemon. The hot lemon might not taste as nice as it normally does, but it does help because it is a good citrus fruit. =]

Have a big bowl of homemade soup!

I experienced the same thing last year. After making 15 examinations and measuring one thousand things, the Dean of the School of Medicine of a prestigious local university reached the following conclusion: You need to rest and drink lots of liquid :)

Unfortunately, there is no clear-cut cure for the common cold.

Good sleep and good diet. The 'common cold' are viruses (yes more than one). The symptoms can be masked with medication, but it's down to you immune system to cure you. The best way to strengthen it is through rest and good food.

Get well soon

There is no known cure for the common cold. Alas, all you can do is push fluids, and vitamin C to help feel better.

Apparently chicken soup also has scientifically proven benefits.

The Cold is a virus and there is no known cure.

Here are the best ways to fight it though.

1. Get lots of sleep and drink lots of fluids - avoid caffeine.

2. Medicate yourself with
Acetaminophen 325mg (pain reliever/fever reducer)
Dextromethorphan HBr 10mg (cough suppressant)
Phenylephrine HCl 5mg

(Basically Vicks Dayquill, don't waste your money though, get the offbrand stuff with the same ingredients)

3. Eat lots of chicken soup - I'm not kidding. See the following:
http://archives.cnn.com/2000/HEALTH/diet.fitness/10/17/chicken.soup.reut/

4. As hard as it is, avoid stress like the plague and find ways to laugh alot. You'll be doing your immune system a serious favor and it will reward you in return.

You just have to deal with it. The cold virus mutates constantly so there is no chance of developing a natural immunity

Try taking Airborne. It doesn't cure it but it does help speed it up or if taken at the first signs of a cold will help prevent the cold from happening. I have taken it every cold and flu season and its always worked for me.

divatodiefor23
Gets lots of rest and stay well hydrated. There is no real cure for the common cold, you just have to give your body the best possible chance to fight it off on its own.

you can,t. you can treat symptoms. a cold is a viral infection. there are over a 1000 known viruses for colds, not to mention the ones they don,t know about. try Dayquil for daytime relief.

a couple of ideas that my brother just had me take are airborne (fairly good, but i take it just as i'm getting sick) and this new one called cold snap -- this eliminated my cold quick! both can be bought at a local vitamin store or drug store. feel better soon!

Cold can be prevented. Regarding the cure there is an old saying that " to get cure from cold with medicine it takes 7 days and without medicine one week"
I am suggesting the following based on a book:
Herbal treatment 1. Echinacea - it boosts your immune system and prevents cold.
2. Golden seals - helps to cure running nose.
3. Eucalyptus can help cleans your lungs and ease congestion. Never put directly. Inhale the vapour ( steam)
4. Ginger can soothe throat nd eliminate mucus.
5. Chamomile clears your stuffy nose.
6. Vitamin C prevents and cures (eases) cold.
7. Think Zinc. Zinc lozenges is good.
Anyhow, please consult a doctor.
Good medicines are available in Homoeopathy
