How
To Use
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICATION: This medication is used as a topical gel to be applied with a toothbrush.
Use once or twice daily after thorough brushing and flossing.
Shake excess water from toothbrush.
Apply gel liberally to toothbrush (cover bristle surface completely).
Brush all surfaces of teeth for 1 minute.
Be sure to swish gel around and between teeth.
Expectorate (spit out) any excess.
Do not swallow gel.
Do not rinse mouth, eat or drink for 30 minutes after using.
Side
Effects
This medication may cause staining of the teeth or tongue.
The stains can be removed by your dentist.
Changes in taste can also occur while using this medication.
If this medication is accidentally swallowed, stomach upset or nausea may occur.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing illnesses, allergies especially to fluoride, are on a low-salt diet or if you live in an area where the drinking water is fluoridated.
This fluoride supplement is used when the drinking water contains low fluoride levels (less than 0.7 parts per million).
This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.
Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
Missed
Dose
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
