Time Taken: 1 years

Reason: High blood pressure Date: 25 April 2010
Side Effects
Tingling fingers, also that my fingers seem to be much more sensitive to hot and cold. I sometimes have problems 'hanging onto' things I am holding. Some cramping in legs, but not bothersome. Sometimes my blood pressure with the drug is very low and I can feel dizzy. Feel lethargic and depressed at times.

Additional Thoughts
Am taking 80 mg dose once a day. Diovan works well at keeping blood pressure low. Have high-normal blood pressure and a family history of cardiovascular disease/high blood pressure. Have changed my diet considerably over the last year--little to no fat, cod liver oil, nuts for snacks, more fish and vegetables, less red meat. Have stopped taking Diovan for two days now--feel fine. Am monitoring my blood pressure and it is normal. Am hoping to be able to quit the medication completely but time will tell.

Side Effects
acute tiredness heart racing severe lack of energy poor sleep pattern

Additional Thoughts
After heart racing occured sent to A& E who after tests sent me home saying only that a possible virus could have caused bp to rise setting off high pulse rate Now after 3 weeks in bed unable to do anything because of tiredness I just happened to read on the Diovan sheet that this drug can cause a viral infection in 1 in 10 people where do I go from here? As been told viruses have no cure only time.
