Amoxicill-Clarithro-Lansopraz
Oral

This medication is used to treat and prevent certain types of ulcers that are caused by a bacterial infection. Treating the infection helps to reduce the risk of the ulcer occurring again. Treating an ulcer reduces the risk of serious damage to the lining of the stomach/intestines (e.g., bleeding, tearing, blockage). This product contains 3 medications. Lansoprazole blocks acid production in the stomach, helping to heal the ulcer and relieve abdominal pain. It belongs to the class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). Amoxicillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic, and clarithromycin is a macrolide-type antibiotic. Both antibiotics work by stopping the growth of bacteria. The antibiotics in this medication treat only bacterial infections. Antibiotics do not work for viral infections (e.g., common cold, flu). Unnecessary use or overuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness.
